Hawks seem to be having a fire sale, with the rumors of what the Lakers are trying to add and their lack or assets. Hawks look to be looking to move Clint as well. I would not include any of those Net picks.
It feels like we just started collecting. Tari is 22 years old, Sengun is 21, Jabari is 20, Cam is 19. This offseason is not make or break for a championship, especially not with picks and swaps from Brooklyn through 2027. Besides Al P, Cam looks like our hottest prospect and he's a teenager. I don't want to overpay for "the right player" this summer. I want more opportunities to draft guys like him. We just started phase 2 of the rebuild. I don't think this summer will necessarily be explosive. All of our vets, except for Holiday and Bullock, are signed through the 24-25 season. All of our draftees are also still on their rookie contracts through 2025. That means 2025 is the next big turning point, when the Rockets can decline FVV's option and pursue a marquee free agent. And the 2025 free agent class is stacked compared to 2024's.
I thought this was possible when I thought Cade could be a passable defender, but somehow he is worse than Jalen and that's half the game. Also, again, Cade is not putting up these numbers on a team that aims to win. I compare him to Green on a bad team and in that comparison, Green is 2 years younger. Still, Cade is barely a higher TS%, not a better defender and not a better 3pt shooter. With 2 years advantage in age and college experience. There's no way I would pick Cade over Green. If Cade improves his finishing, still HALF of his production is majorly flawed (50%). His foot speed is so bad this looks like it's going to be a career problem. If Jalen Green improves his finishing at the rim, then he would be better than Cade at offense and defense and worthy of a big extension having improved his defense, assists and off ball play rapidly in 30 games. You can have a top 5 or top 10 defense with Jalen starting, I don't believe Cade can give you that with Sengun starting nor can he score better than Jalen. Udoka literally came in and described Jalen Green (putting up 22 points last season on roughly the same TS% as Cade) as a player who has not done anything material in the league. The team has moved on from considering that valuable, so has Jalen and so have I.
He leads the league in turnovers. He can't manipulate a defense. He can't blow by defenders. And he's a chucker. If I'm an NBA defense I'd rather deal with Cade who at least won't make me work vs Jalen who I'll probably beat as well but requires significantly more effort. Always beware of players who put up stats on bad teams. Cade is just Kevin Porter Jr minus the anger issues. The Pistons are a much more dangerous team when Ivey has the ball.
Cuban has been very vocal pro-DEI lately… Too bad he sold the team, otherwise, that would have been the perfect spot for a Jalen trade. He could have come out as openly non-binary and Cuban would have scored major DEI points. He could have killed the Wei Wu controversy right away by getting Jalen/Juliana and shutting-down the taunts…
Guys, with every passing game Jalen’s value gets worse. I suspect Stone’s value on Jalen is like a top 6 pick or a couple mid rounders. The reality is we’ll be lucky to get one mid round pick for Jalen before this is all over. And more importantly, we can’t maximize winning and play Jalen significant minutes at the same time. Cut ur losses and move on. We have 4 or 5 other great prospects.
I saw this thread pop up and my first thought was, “it’s getting worse…” at some point it’s just about making sure you have the right people on the bus. I don’t think Jalen is a great fit on a bus that Udoka is driving. Other guys on the roster may find a seat. But Jalen doesn’t feel like a fit for what they’re trying to build imo
Cade is a worse shooter than Green ..... I'll pass. Give me a 2 guard that is good at what 2 guards are supposed to be good at - Shooting.
Lol, you can easily flip Cade for more than Green, but nobody will give you Cade. Cade belongs on a team that needs a 2nd option and Houston does not need it at the moment......and Stone is not someone who just flips players.
Dude has his birthday on the 9th of February, I doubt he will be traded by his birthday........that is just cruel ...just those 2 cents.

It is a mixture of everything, Alpe also does not seem to play as well as before, inconsistent bench points...... Early H Bday.
I think it is likely they are just regressing to the mean and play below average ball for a time...... We probably have to tolerate that.....
