If Brooklyn were in the West they'd have no hope of making the play in whereas I don't see them falling out of it in the East. Atlanta is terrible and has their own pick this year, so they have incentive to tank if they don't turn it around soon. Toronto is possibly on the verge of trading Siakam and also committing to a rebuild. Gotta hope Brooklyn doesn't manage to win two games in the play in tourney, because we'd be shut out of the lotto no matter how terrible their record is.

Ordinarily you would think Herro was untouchable, yes, but Miami was just in the finals and Jimmy ain't getting any younger. Plus they have a history of always going for it no matter what. They may look to improve their roster at the deadline after missing out on Dame, and Herro is pretty much their only real ammo if they want to add an all-star to their roster.
No, I wouldn't trade all their picks for Bridges. That would have to be for a superstar. But I do think Ja. Green + the Nets FRP could land us a significant upgrade like Murray AND we'd have our assets going forward.
If Jalen, 2024 Nets pick, and filler gets it done for Murray then you have to strongly consider that, but I've heard ATL wants 2 first round picks for Murray.
The Nets are over the cap and will depend on MLEs to improve their team in the near future. Also, they have 3 rotation guys headed to free agency, and it is doubtful they can keep all three. With 2025-2027 likely better drafts, I expect the draft capital improves even if Nets somehow keep the status quo. Nets only hope is a big trade that happens soon. The longer this goes on, the less a destination Brooklyn is. Also, there is a good chance the Rockets trade out of the 2024 draft to end up with 5 tradeable FRPs instead of 4 when the 2031 FRP becomes tradeable. I don't think both of FVV and Brooks will be Rockets after next deadline as I think Rockets trade at least on of them for draft capital (1-2 more FRPs).
i agree, one of brooks or FVV will be gone next year. I think the rockets will sell high on brooks, clearing cap space and getting picks, and if we can do the same with FVV, we will too. I think the rockets will try and keep all of our young talent, resign them and then trade some later.
Just flagging that according to my check once a day tankathon obsession, the Nets pick now has a 23.5% chance of being top 4. If they fall just one spot down those odds become 34%. That 2024 Nets pick is starting to get exciting.

I'm not certain on the timing, but I expect: 1) FVV is traded for pick(s) 2) Rockets take expiring (or soon to be) contracts plus picks for a very good young player and/or star. Not sure if those are in the same deal.
