People who sign up estimate their own carbon footprint after answering questions based on their lifestyle choices and then opt to pay monthly towards a number of projects whose intentions are to offset it and are given updates on the the progress of those projects.

    I think it's perfectly fine for people to do it voluntarily. It just becomes dystopian when you think about countries like China and their social credit score, and possibly forcing it on everyone.
