The MAGA demographic benefited from a unique era that they refuse to acknowledge was anomalous to much of American history: Post-WWII economic boom Heavy investments in public infrastructure, including GI Bills that allowed veterans to access things like homes and college degrees Less economic competition from ostracized/discriminated-upon groups Strong manufacturing base Etc. Unfortunately, they think that the Reagan era was the pinnacle of American policy that made their upward mobility possible rather than the deliberate hollowing-out of everything they took advantage of. They've been rubbing our noses in it now for 30 years.
Pretty sure those people could more easily just have donated to Trump in the first place. This is a guy who will do anything his donors want - why go at in a roundabout way?

trump was never going to show up at any debate. If haley was smart, she would have televised a debate between her and an empty lectern, with her or someone off camera giving trump's positions and statement. She doesn't have a chance to win, but at least the media would report on what she did.

A lot of the MAGA supporters also forget that Reagan did things like the restructure the tax code that actually raised taxes, bailed out companies and also singed the last major immigration bill that allowed millions who were here illegally to become citizens. Reagan in his record would have no chance in todays GOP.
They have a wholly imagined view of American history and a complete lack of self reflection. And I get it; admitting that your voting patterns for decades helped hollow out your family's economic opportunities is tough. Rather than be the bulwark against change, American "conservatives" have unwittingly aided change nonetheless for 40 years. They just can't admit that they're wrong.

I still think she would be a far more formidable candidate in the general election. In today’s GOP though it’s a very difficult if not impossible task to run against Trump.
People (and polls) keep saying that, but I have a hard time believing it. Maybe in an alternate universe in which Trump decided not to run, she could have been a good candidate to challenge Biden. If she somehow became the candidate today, the MAGA resentment would linger and enthusiasm would be low. While she's out grabbing a bunch of female suburban votes, she's losing just as many out of Trump's base that won't vote at all.

I didn't find the post on his Truth page, but damn does that MFer post non-stop, so finding anything on that page is a challenge. Especially since he went off on a several post tirade about her at 1am.
MAGA enthusiasm would be low - but also Dems wouldn't get all the "we can't have Trump" votes. Dems didn't get record votes in 2020 because people loved Biden - it was to stop Trump. Without that motivation, Biden's support has no enthusiasm and you still have MAGA people hating Biden. Beyond that, Haley can appeal to moderate and independent women who want to finally see the first woman President. None of this moves the needle much if people love Biden, but they don't.
So im guessing that the constitution does not apply to him.... If so he shouldn't be allowed to run for President.... T_Man
