I mean.... if, say, we're 8 games into next season, and CJ Stroud is still consistently putting up numbers in this general vicinity.... He probably cements his case as greatest QB in team history. That's far more of an indictment of our QB history - but, still....

Keenum is going to get that qbs coach gig hehe

“I think he’s gonna be the best of all time,” Keenum said. “Like, he truly has the ability to be that way. … I know, it’s very early to say that sort of stuff. But, man, he does some stuff that is just out of this world.”

The relationship between Devin White and the Bucs is broken. He might be gone from there.

I do agree when he's locked in and playing hard, the guy is a terror (just ask Jameis Winston).

If there's any Buc I want, it'd be Mike Evans.

I've heard from a source close enough to the team that White isn't necessarily a great locker room guy. But I've heard that Evans absolutely is. Everyone loves Evans. Plus, he's a hometown kid.

I know we have a lot of money to work with but we need to re-sign some of our best players. I think Mike Evans needs to be willing to take a hometown discount if he wants to be here. It's guaranteed happiness and success if he's willing to sacrifice some $. Texans will be a hot commodity in the free agent market place come this off-season,

Don’t mention Jamie’s name less you want an entire dissertation directed at you by that one James Winston Only Fan on how Jamie’s is the greatest QB of his generation and how he was railroaded by a secret cabal made up of NFL/Media types.

I'd actually rather the Texans not go after big name WR free agents or draftees this offseason. I think instead of hoping for a MHJr or another existing big time WR1, you look for guys that maybe aren't as talented physically but are great route runners. Those types of receivers will be uber successful with a guy like Stroud who will be accurate and make the right reads at the right times, and you won't be paying through the nose for them, which lets you spend money to build up the defense as well.

I don't follow all the other NFL teams or college football closely, so I don't know who that is. But when I think about the similarities of Stroud's skillset and Brady's skillset and I think about how much Brady was able to do with guys like Wes Welker or Julian Edelman, it makes me think we leave Nico and Tank as our primary WR and fill in with slot guys that know how to find gaps and get open. I know Brady had his best season when he had his best WR option (Moss), but the dude still won 6 other Superbowls with wide receiver cores that didn't have that #1 elite type WR to trot out there. Let Stroud elevate the offensive side of the ball and spend money on the defensive side to get playmakers.

I was thinking the same. All season long Stroud has been making throws before receivers make their break, making throws where the receiver will be. He knows their routes and has made adjustments with a receiver on the fly if they see a certain coverage again. Superb route running is one of the main attributes I would look for.

CJ got the respect from opposing players around the league already, as a rookie.

I'm in the camp that has no interest in spending on a WR or drafting one high (unless a miracle falls to us.)

They don't have the cap to work with that you think because they have SO MANY players up as FA.

I'd target interior DL with my money. Chris Jones from the Chiefs. If that relationship is broken and they don't tag him, he'd be my 100% top target. Turn the DLine into a force.

Beyond that I think they need to draft:
    Edge
    Interior DLine
    OLine
    Running back

Why? Because they are paying way too much to the Oline and need to cut some of these guys soon.
Dline they have Greenard up as a FA and then it's a bunch of nothing after Anderson. They not only need a potential starter, they need rotational depth.

They don't need to target it early, but they need a running back. They need to be looking for a pass catching back who can fit into the zone scheme.

After that, they just need rotational bodies. They have to spend so much money on free agent veterans because they haven't been able to restock this team with quality depth guys. It's vital to have guys on rookie deals playing well.

CJ has only played in 1 postseason game and has the same amount of td passes as Lamar.
