Free throws are off every time he shakes the damn ball before shooting. He needs to come set and then shoot.
Embiid drops 41/10 “Good job Alpy you really battled. If it wasn’t for Jalen we would have had this one”
You might want to have a look at Jeff Green's net rating tonight. Hint: I have never seen anything like it. Edit: Here: https://www.nba.com/game/hou-vs-phi-0022300555/box-score?type=advanced
He's telling them they are collapsing on him. Man we need shooters more than anything at this point. Nobody respects our shooters.
So I watched all of Embiid's made shots (you can just click on the made field goals for each player here: https://www.nba.com/game/hou-vs-phi-0022300555/box-score?type=traditional ) - he did indeed score 4x on Alpi (8 points - all long twos - Alpi contested them all, but not much you can do there). Didn't score on Jeff Green - the other field goals were against Amen (3x), Jalen (2x), Brooks (2x), Landale (1x). No dunks. Alpi scored 13 of his 19 points on Embiid (6 of his 7 field goals, including one three and one dunk). So yeah, @Verbal Christ - Embiid did most of his damage against others, and as far as the direct scoring matchup against each other, Alpi actually comes out ahead. Alpi also only had one non-shooting foul, so all the damage Embiid did from the line was not caused by Alpi either. Just facts.
Nobody at this point is expecting Sengun to outplay embiid, that’s a dumb way to look at things. If he can hold his own that’s great
All I did was post the stats of their direct interactions offense/defense in terms of made field goals on the court tonight. I also posted the link so you can watch for yourself if you want to. Embiid only scored 8 of his 41 points "on Sengun". Sengun scored 13 of his 19 points "on Embiid".
BTW, I enjoyed Alpi's three. Little hesitation and good form on this one. Does this link work? https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CF...eamID=1610612745&flag=3&sct=plot§ion=game
So I just went and looked at ALL of Embiid's shots. He took 11 shots against Alpi. Made 4 of 11. Alpi defended the other 7 well enough for Embiid to miss, and 2 of them were blocks, with one of the blocks putting Embiid on his ass. https://www.nba.com/stats/events?CF...eamID=1610612745&flag=1&sct=plot§ion=game Embiid made 8 of his other 10 shots against other Rockets, with several of them being and-1s.
Let's not forget that we have been missing Tari. He is such an energy infuser and momentum shifter. I consider him our second-best young player behind Sengun, and probably third best player overall behind Sengun and FVV.
I thought Sengun did a great job defending Embiid, especially in the 3rd quarter. Was he really responsible for Embiid dropping 40 points?
