We can’t keep collecting. This off-season is where our championship future is obtained or lost. We are going to have to give to gain. A lot if not all of us are going to be second guessing our Rockets fandom. We will seemingly overpay for the “right player”. Looking forward to the good times ahead.
Nah I say package Amen and Green for Cunningham. Cade is very solid and would mesh well with this group. I’m not high on Thompson at all and Jalen is giving off Andrew Wiggins vibes. Maybe add crappy some picks and see if Detroit will also include Duren? What ya’ll think?
I really like Duren but can’t see Detroit trading him; even for both Jalen and Amen. He’d be an amazing center to pair with Sengun, especially as Sengun’s shot develops and he becomes capable of big minutes at the 4. Im convinced Duren is gonna be a stud and All Defensive Team at some point.
That is why they should make Cunningham and Duren untouchables....or only for legitimate stars..... As an organization you have to protect your assets and do it the right way. As it is in the interest of the Rockets to try to lowball another team.
On his own maybe a mid to late first round pick. There are some teams kind of in win now mode that might take a chance on Jalen rather than try and develop another pick. NYK, New Orleans, Miami, Philadelphia, OKC, Indiana. Milwaukee, Cleveland. Their picks range from 17-27. I don't think we could get a lotto pick for him.
I don’t think, alone, Green has a lot of value. I do think, however, he would be valued as the “young piece” in a trade that also includes draft capital towards an upgrade.
The draft this year is horrendous so there'd be GM's much more willing to part with top picks. Ordinarily, he'd be a mid first rounder but I think he could fetch a pick in the 8 to 12 range.
Who would you have drafted in Stone's exact draft slots with no trade up? And its more likely Stone will let Green play out rookie deal under Ime before deciding to reup or sign n trade or just let him walk, so your prayer is a hail mary, but keep the faith, go to church and keep praying for the Green trade for a 15/30th pick, that would be classic and more threads can be made so we can then read everybody complain about the horrible return from the Green trade Rockets are basically stuck with Green until next offseason, which is the 4 year window I give pretty much all pro athletes, especially one straight out of HS and not named Lebron/A Stoudamire (who were built diff.)
Nah.. better handle better decision maker and although the numbers dont show it, better shooter. Dude is shooting a low pct because the rest of his teammates can’t shoot. Obviously Cade isn’t the athlete Jalen is, but he’s way more polished.
Cade is much the better player. He's really starting to step up his game. (He's put up 25/8/5 while shooting 51/40/85 over the last 7) Dude's not going anywhere. I'd take Ivey for Jalen.
Duren, Cade, and Ivey are all better prospects than Jalen at this point. Of the 3, Ivey is the one Detroit would possibly consider parting with; my understanding is that he and Monty have issues. Pretty sure that many teams could offer attractive packages for Ivey’s services if he was made available. It’s unclear if Detroit see’s pairing Amen with Ausar as a unique opportunity. Jalen wouldn’t get it don’t, but perhaps Jalen and Amen would. Maybe Amen and Tate? Then again we can’t pay 3 guys in the same draft class (Bari, Ivey, Tari). I bet Detroit is actually looking to add some good vets like we did; not more developmental projects. We may not have what they want.
I can't imagine playing Ausar and Amen together is a recipe for success. Two god awful shooters would kill their already non existent spacing.
If only Jalen was putting up 30-pieces on a garbage team when he was 2 years younger than Cade is now. Maybe points on a bad team only counts for Cade.
Knicks willing to give up Q and RJ for OG is a testament that it's hard to evaluate trade value. The Hawks put Murray on the trade block and on paper we can give them Oladipo and Green and we may need to throw in Nets pick to make it work. I don't know if that'd be enough for Hawks, but Murray is going to be a significant upgrade to Green.
Hmm. Cade is outperforming Jalen in nearly every statistical category, though. Also, Cade has not played nearly as many NBA minutes. It's a moot point because the Rockets never had a shot at picking him, but I thought and still think Cade will have a better career.
Teams like the Suns and Hawks really need defense. Tate added to those deals would be appealing to them.
A player like Green is always worth less than what his original team rates him. If the original team has given up on developing him, he's a negative asset
