I have no problem with taking one Jalen Green but when you do, you have to change your strategy...... How do you draft Jalen Green, Josh Christopher, TyTy and then still take Amen......those are all questionable picks.... I am personally a fan of bigs, so if they just picked at least 2 more bigs, then they would have assets to trade for a more established Shooting guard instead of just blindly drafting shooting guards. And enamored with wings that have point guard abilities that are no point guards...... It became the personal playground of Stone and Fertitta and not a basketball team......good thing they signed Fred Van Vleet, at least he can run a team.
I was pessimistic like 10 games in with Jalen (and still hoping to be wrong) so I’m not going to tell someone it’s too early to judge but I’m still optimistic about Amen. It seems like he knows how to compete, he loves basketball, and he’s got a good hoops iq/feel. The broken shot is a big impediment to having a productive career but I’m betting he figures out some way to be an impact player regardless.
Amen was severely outplayed by his twin brother but it was expected how much Ausar had played before..... Both are still bad shooters and non scorers.
Josh Christopher and Tyty are low frps they shouldn't be compared alongside Amen and Jalen Green. Low first rounders are almost always gonna be busts or role players at best so you shouldn't look at that as a sign of anything. We got Garuba alongside JC and how did he pan out? Doesn't seem any more valuable than JC.
Having come from OTE the twins lack fundamentals but they should be really good in a couple of years. Sengun is only 21 you should have more patience instead FO wanting instant results. I remember when Rox first got Harden Morey got all excited and immediately got vets around him. The team was really good in the regular season but the Rox never really did anything in the playoffs until Harden got old. We shouldn't waste Sengun in the same way.
I was wondering this too--I suspect Ime has realized that the spacing just wasn't working with Dillon & Tari out. Notice he was also putting Reggie Bullock out there along with Cam. I expect Amen's minutes will go back up a bit when they return. Although Cam has been playing great to be fair (last night notwithstanding).
You guys are absolutely clueless. He wasn’t out there because he sucks at shooting and Udoka has figured out that we will be like the 3-38 Pistons if we give him the time his brother gets.
Bro you know we know you couldn't figure out why Kenneth Faried was not a viable NBA player right? Since then you have clearly shown you have no idea how to value defense. In case you care about the truth more then you care about being right, in all your predictions you're leaving out 50% of the game of basketball. You're doing the same with Amen here. You can't make a respectable projection this way.
Folks, when Itamar / Disney Gary starts putting together very special highlight packages of you making relatively run of the mill plays, ...it's a real bad omen for your NBA future - ask Gary Clark or Usman Garuba - if you can find them
Watching Keyonte George on offense and then watching Amen, I have a hard time believing that Amen will ever reach that level of offensive firepower.
A double double with 3 steals? I am in! Haha, jk, I just looked at the box score after staggering home from the Texans game. I will watch next game. I am sure this wasn't pretty
I'll say some positive things. His body control, quick hands, defensive instincts and rebounding are very good.
Folks, If Sam Fisher says you aren't "worth the effort...", you might be an all-star at 21 years old. Gary Clark and Usman Garuba might be hard to find, but not as hard to find as Sam Fisher, Clutch, and others after an Alperen Sengun masterclass...
I agree 100%…..just missing that one small element: shooting. He definitely has a future as a role player in this league, due to his skills in almost all other aspects of his game. Cam, on the other hand, will be a starter with the potential to be a star in this league. Cam should have been the one taken at number 4 as I’ve been saying since way before the draft. He CAN shoot and has a great feel for the game. Hollins was right in comparing him to Brown.
