Aren't Taycans one of the few cars that usually get better range than claimed? Or they used to be, anyway. I've thought about getting one, but my cheap side always kicks in and starts looking for a nice ICE vehicle. That, and even with the better real-world range, I still think the range sucks. You can get used 2020 models for around $70k-$80k, but I'm not a huge fan of buying used cars and especially not used EV's yet.

    Yup.

    2020 Porsche Taycan 4S (20-in wheels)
    EPA 203 mi
    EDMUNDS: 323 mi

    Car and Driver said:
The base-model Porsche Taycan achieved a 280-mile range and 97 MPGe in our real-world 75-mph highway range test.
Our test car was equipped with the optional 83.7-kWh Performance Battery Plus, and the EPA estimates that configuration will travel 225 miles on a single charge.

Interesting that @Sajan on his Tesla slander crusade seemed to omit the significant reliability issues the Taycan has presented....

    Technically, I guess it's more like :

Tesla AWD "Foundation Series" model (I can't keep up with what's what anymore)
EPA : 320 (I thought these were rated for 340 miles)
    Real world highway/46F : 254

Elon fudge results? Never. In all honesty, I'd rather have the street racing length of 1/8th mile to compare and then maybe do a 1/4-mile for kicks. In the 1/4, I'd love to see if the "low end" 911 could reel it back in. Most electric vehicles win the race at the start, but eventually start to get reeled in if the race is much longer than that which would've happened to the Cybertruck. But yeah, I'd rather have full transparency where we know what vehicles are being raced, how they're being equipped, and what the race length was. Still pretty amazing to watch the polygonal brick do what it did. Also loved how they drew it as a triangle on the whiteboard. :D

The one thing I take exception to is using something like C&D times (can't remember which mag he used) to establish times. Most times in C&D are not attainable by the average driver - their drivers know how to drive. lol. I don't know who was driving these 2 vehicles in the video. Could've been Bill29857 from Clutchfans driving for Porsche and no way he's dropping a 12.2 in the 1/4. Hell, he's probably drunk halfway through trying to post about Alpi or Jalen.

shows two cars racing on a drag strip.
shows a shot of both cars going over a finish line
    shows a graphic 1/4 mile <11 secs.

turns out the line was....1/8 mile.

On brand for Tesla and Elon.
