I think Ime challenges Alpi because he sees the future star potential but doesn't challenge Jalen because he already know he a bust.

I believe he tries to pass out more than needed, his averages could be 25-30 points if he was more egoist and I think he should be more egoist, because our guards can not shoot and waste his passes that can become asists.

Ime has this down-to-earth, common sense touch.
It’s OK to talk smack about bros, they can take.
You never-ever talk smack about hoes. Last thing you want is Jalen to get into his feels…

It makes common sense. If you like Sengun, you shouldn’t take offense and see it as some kind of injustice. You treat Sengun like a man coz he’s a man. You treat Jalen like a lady, coz she’s a lady. That’s just common sense.

Oh look, Clutch popped back up after Alpi lays an egg in the first half.

Sure was quiet during that 7 or 8 game stretch when Sengun was putting up every night.

Pretty lame stuff from the man upstairs

Every once in a while we tell him exactly how it's linked to his insecurities and he disappears for a while but the ego has a way of selectively forgetting things in order to repeat itself.

When things come from an insecurity, you can be sure - even more sure than the person themselves - the the behavior is repeating because someone did the same thing to them. So for example him talking about painting nails and all that triggering a logical automatic response from us makes him feel like he's back in control. Like he can press a button, get the exact reaction he knows he should get and then congratulate himself on a troll job well done. Like he can't be bullied because he thinks we believe he's macho. In his mind we're eating all this up. That feels like power to people suffering from being treated that way.

My guess? Someone emasculated him when he was young and on the days where someone at his workplace vaguely reminds him of that he will come on here and try to emasculate Jalen. Poor guy he's just trying to make that first bully proud but he doesn't realize that's what he's doing. How would he even know what strength is when the strongest person he knew was picking on a smaller, weaker person? All he can do is emulate that behavior. Unfortunately and fortunately, we all auto-copy the strongest people from our childhood so if those people suck we will have some mental work to do later.

    Best of luck to him.

Let's be respectful to @Clutch and let's celebrate that @Clutch is supportive of our best player's all-star bid.

What was worse, when you're dad yelled at you when you didn’t play to your potential or when he said he was disappointed you didn't give your best?

For me it was the latter 1000%. Ime doing some PhD-level coaching with Alpi. Kid is becoming a monster.

Not defending KPJ Needs a Lob Threat Silas , just that Silas was considered "cruel" to Sengun. While Ime is being "accountable". Maybe its coaching knowing certain players can get handled certain ways. Or it comes from Sengun himself maturely offering himself to criticism.

    Haha.

There's zero alike in what Udoka says vs what Silas said.

Why are you so weird about Jalen? It’s bizarre.

You are deeply and profoundly embarrassing.

I don't think that's really what bugs people. Holding someone accountable in an environment where no one else is held accountable is unprofessional, even if the person (coach) doing it stupidly thought they're doing a good thing. This is like a dictator punishing someone for stealing a loaf of bread while his own friend is looting banks. Is it wrong to punish someone for stealing bread? No, but this behavior is corrupt because of the context. The person being held accountable is not learning the lesson you think they're learning. What you're actually teaching them is that it's better to be the boss's friend than it is to work hard. That's not the lesson you want to teach.

Udoka treats everyone fairly. He answers the questions he's asked, he's not the one always picking which player to talk about. If he holds Sengun accountable, then Sengun will see that it's fair and absorb the criticism. The reason he talks about Sengun a lot? It's because Sengun is the hub we all wanted him to be, and with that comes additional responsibility/accountability. The team is built around him at the moment.

LOL... Not all folks hate green for things outside the realm of basketball. o_O

Some folks just want to see improvement and him being worthy of us using a #2 pick on him.

Some folks want to trade him (lack of growth) and some folks want to baby him (age).

Some folks couldn't care less either way as long as we get the most value from that #2 pick!!
