My priorities would be to sign Chris Jones and Greenard. A better pash rush helps out an already good CB group. IOL has plenty of young guys to for LG and C.

Someone will fall in the first round, a few good players always do and smart teams like Baltimore with Hamilton and Linderbaum snap them up and gee what do you know become top team in the AFC.

Gimmee that BPA falling guy at the Browns pick. Usually TE, S, RB tend to be those guys and we could use help there. WR would be good too.

Would you be giving up a ton of depth?

Rankins and Greenard is all you would be giving up to sign Jones.

You would still have Barnett/Sanders at DE and Collins/Tartt/Hinish at DT.

Jones can play DE or DT. Plus drafting a developmental edge would help a lot.

I just cant fathom why a fan wouldn't want to sign a top 3 versatile DT/Edge in all of football.

Because you’d be paying him $30M and you have 28 others to sign.

25 of that would be covered by letting Rankins and Greenard walk.

I love Greenard. He's a great edge, and only 26 years old.

I wouldn't give those two up one when they are ranked really high. We have other players I'd trade way before them.

No lol letting them walk doesn't add money. We only have $70M and $30M would be going to one person instead of 3. I'm sure there's ways to work around that but...

    I respect your outlook

I estimated conservatively that Greenard would get paid 15 and Rankins would get paid 10 if you want to bring them back. It most likely will be more than that.

I understand what you're saying but I don't agree with it.

Not sure why you're defending it when you said you wouldn't do it either.

Would you say Rankins or Greenard are dominant players that consistently command double teams? Jones is and Jones has a much cleaner health history.

What are you disagreeing with when it comes to the money. Money spent is money spent.

Because there's a strong case to be made to bring in a top 3 DL in the NFL.

With an extensive injury history who played his best in a contract year.

Anderson is going to make whomever is on the other side better.

I’d love a disruptful DT and get an upcoming edge on the other end.

I would be ecstatic if Texans sign Jones, and I wouldn't mind losing Greenard if we can get Jones. Find a veteran or draft another edge.

I'm saying it's two players who are pretty good. If Jones gets hurt we are screwed. I want Jones too, but let go the least productive free agents, not those two. Fill holes in the draft. Go over the salary cap and pay the price. It's not like the owners can't afford to do that.

I wouldn't say his injury history is terrible. He's missed 3 less games than Collins the past 3 years. His worst season was only playing 8 games, which is two less than Tank's 10. Collins also played his best this year. DeMeco's coaching and a great QB helped both become better. Greenard is young. He will improve with this coach.

I'm not paying 15-20 million a year for Greenard. Look at Jones injury history vs Greenard's. I probably would tag Greenard if I couldn't sign Jones or Hunter.

You cant go over the salary cap without losing draft picks and being fined.

Look, I want Jones too. I'd love to get him. I just said get rid of worse free agents than Greenard if we can. Maybe they can adjust the first year for Jones for less, with higher amounts year 2. Come on, Greenard is better than ave. So is Rankins. We have lots of free agents that aren't even ranked. Let some of them go and draft replacements.
