Jermaine didn't get minutes until he left Portland. Jalen is improving so much in different areas of his game. Sorry that you call peoples careers over at 22...............It sad that you expect him to be a 5 time All-star already

is VanVleet playing at a high level? He gets away with a poor FG percentage......Jalen doesn't.

He fits a need because there are not many veteran point guards out in the open market.

Who said it was over? There's always Taiwan.

I like the part where you acknowledged the fact Jermaine exploded when he got minutes.

Damn, definitely can't use that excuse for Jalen.

    Oh dear lord.

    What else does Fred bring?

Then ask that same question with Jalen.

Surely you're trolling at this point. I cannot fathom a sane person saying that genuinely.

It is more about finding more size at the SG position than to demote Jalen Green.....

6'7 guard sounds about right and should give it a try.

Okay FVV is averaging a bit more than 1 assists over last season, let's not get carried away here. He's not at 9-11 assists a game. FVV also averaged around 8 assists a game last season after the Poetl trade, I think he just likes hitting centres with passes.

Now it has come down but he was clearly at 9-10 apg during a good portion of November and December.

I do not think people just want more scoring for Jalen, but more height would be good.

That is also the reason behind the Amen Thompson pick, he is 6 ft 7 and he would normally fit the big size guard concept, if only he could shoot and has great handles.

Fred brings bad shot selection. Especially inside the arc where he just chucks up anything.

I don't think we should down play Fred and to an extent Jalen's passing abilities. I think Sengun also benefits from those pocked passes in stride for easy points. I don't think they are that easy to make, because neither Holiday and Amen can't seem to make that pass. KPJ was also bad at it, which is why his chemistry with Sengun was so off.

Jalen's 8 assists tonight were pretty legit, I think he might just need to keep drive and kicking, his finishing is just so painful to watch. The defense always collapse on him whenever he's in the key.

I almost wish you were trolling. Because these comments... man... you're doing your reputation no favours.

he isn't a good shooter. Anyone who shoots borderline 40 per cent overall isn't a great shooter.

36, 30 and 22 fg percentage overall in 3 of his past 4 games. But it is ok because he does other things

Freds %'s are misunderstood because of shot selection and lack of ability to get to the rim.

he shoots 52.5% from the long mid-range 2 which is pretty dang good. He also shoots 39.4% from 3 which is also pretty dang good. 68% of his shots, over 2/3rds, come from these looks. The majority of his shots,56% in fact, come from the 3pt line. His 40% fg% is misleading because of those shot selections.

    Just for context for FVV

    497 total FGA to date.

    at the rim: 52 attempts
    3-10 Ft: 70 attempts
    10-16 Ft: 37 attempts
    16ft-3pt line: 59 attempts
    3pt line: 279 attempts

so yeah someone who is just looking at the box score without context and not watching games would say FVV isn't shooting well with a 40% fg. Which is wrong. He's having a great year shooting knowing that well over half his shots are coming from distance and actually having a career year shooting it from 3 considering the highest rate he's ever attempted to go with the %

Those inefficiencies will be trimmed out once other players are able to fill that particular role, untill then I believe he HAS to try to do more than he could.

It’s so obvious the way we are playing Fred heavy minutes that he’s gonna get burned out or injured at some point. U can even see it at the end of games. He’s not shooting as well; he’s got tired legs, an he ends up being the #1 option cause he’s the only one that can shoot. We simply have to add another quality combo guard who can shoot efficiently. We need to go get Brogdon from Portland (not for Jalen).

he's really only inefficient in the 3-16 ft areas. 10% of his shots comes from here so it's manageable. He isn't that big and not the most athletic so its pretty understandable

getting brogdon to reduce FVVs minutes from 37.4 to like 32 and completely take all of holidays 18mpg would be huge. He would be a great addition as a 20-25mpg bench reserve
