I concur. I just found it odd the mental gymnastics some are doing to try to lay this loss at Green's feet.
What do you mean over dramatic? There ARE key points in the game where momentum swings one way or the other whether you want to admit it or not! I don't have a problem with Jalen driving and taking a layup attempt either as some are saying. My thing is if you drive for a layup YOU BETTER make it! I've seen too many drives where Jalen takes his last step way away from the basket and then puts up a weak or off balance attempt.
That wasn't a weak attempt. It looked like a good attempt until it barely rolled out. He didn't force it at all. Sometimes bad luck happens.
You dudes are over-examing late game plays. We were finally playing hard, and sometimes things don't go your way. The problem with this game was the first 3 quarters... 4th and OT we were FANTASTIC. We shouldn't have had to play that well to win. Have to mature and play hard for 4 quarters. (Get Tate out of the starting lineup... He kills the spacing)
It's over dramatic because it was pretty clear Cam cost us the game by taking like 3-4 shots and not making them after Jalen missed that layup. Can you count? Is 2 pts worth more than the 6+ pts Cam missed? Cam even hsd that wide open dunk he missed but oh it's all that 1 contested layup Jalen missed that's the issue here. The funny thing is people are also blaming Jalen for not taking that contested 3 over 2 defenders and passing to Landale saying they would be fine if Jalen missed as long as he took that shot. Now these same people are blaming Jalen for taking a shot within the flow of the offense lol wtf.
He’s not at complete fault but that was the moment we were only down by 1 and that layup could’ve gave us a lead and not gave a fast break chance for Coby White to hit a 3. in OT everything is important but we did play horrible in last 2 mins
I refuse to believe it. Has to be ESPN glitch. Do you see it? https://www.espn.com/nba/boxscore/_/gameId/401585151
There was a football (soccer) player called Wagenhaus and people were afraid that he might break the ball. I am sure Amen will break something, rim, ball, board,..
No... You can tell when Green puts up a bad attempt forcing it and is out of control. That wasn't one of them.
My question to why not have both - is what is the actual point of Jalen if he's not scoring? If he's sitting back letting Cam be more aggressive (whilst I think less Jalen with the ball is a positive regardless) - then what is the actual purpose of him? He isn't making any positive difference on the defensive end. May as well move him for another piece. Right now though no matter how little I actually think of Jalen's game - I think the first move I'd like to see is Cam in for Tate - said it before this game and it happened again shortly after the game started.... the ball swung to the corner for a wiiiide open 3.... for Tate.... miss. Let me see Cam doing that. If that doesn't work than my next step would be Cam in for Jalen.
