I didn't have a problem with Slowick's game plan Saturday - but did want to build on the point above: I think at least some of the limitations were rooted in them not having WRs available beyond Collins and Schultz they like/trust. And it sure seemed like the Colts made a concerted effort to limit the Collins' damage - he didn't do much in the 3Q and his biggest catch in the 4Q was Stroud's heave/throwaway Nico ran down. The Texans also committed far too many penalties and that can disrupt game plans. Plus, when you're playing a team with a mediocre QB, the last thing you want to do is give him short fields. So they may have indeed been more conservative - given lack of weapons and them not wanting to make things easier for Gardner.
I think his timing is just off… and he’s not fully up to speed (maybe didn’t get as many reps as Tank ) during offseason … hopefully he locks himself to CJ hip this offseason
Metchie had a nice jumpcut in the slot he used in college to separate. Maybe the ACL injury didn't go well, but he just doesn't look short term explosive right now like he did at Bama. We need someone to step up and run some good routes.
