Recurring. Predict it will go on in up and down fashion.

Who else was going to play over Tate? Bullock? Amen? Cam? Jeff Green can't play 40 min a night at his age. Sorry but Tate is our best option with both Brooks and Tari out.

Also, I felt like both Jabari and Green had enough unconstested shots that they just flat out missed.

Too many players with either low basketball IQ on court at the same time.

DB definitely has a calming impact for us, and tempers/hides the kindergartners boneheadedness. We miss him desperately.

Point blank: It is hard to put 3 21 year olds and 2 rookies in the rotation with only duct tape. Does not matter how talented they are.

Bad defense overall. Had trouble all night communicating on switches or just rotating with their shooters.

Smith had one where the player was coming off dribble handoff on the wing. Don’t know if their concept was to switch but Smith went under instead of over on Robinson a guy who can shoot but not good to the rim and Sengun stayed resulting in wide open Robinson 3. Tate had a couple where he switched on Robinson and both him and FVV stayed with Robinson while Bam got easy pass to the paint.

Towards end of game FVV ran off from weakside corner to double Bam in post for some reason. Sengun was in no man’s land. Holliday had to rotate to the wing shooter which was too late since he was covering corner as well.

Wings also cheated a lot and sagged off their shooters worrying about Jacquez and Herro in the paint. We had trouble with their pin downs and flares as well. Just lots of missed assignments and miscommunication it seems.

I am not really at ease about Udoka either, seems he is close to running out of ideas during road games.......

    Culmination of bad things.
    Bad defensive rebounding.
Allowing their guards to get to the paint.
    Not covering shooters.
    Careless turnovers.
Lack of team play especially in 3rd. Smith and Cam had several bad selfish plays and rushed.

Wasn’t just offense. Defensively they were terrible. Lots of wrong rotations and miscommunication especially Tate, Sengun, FVV.

There were a lot of things going wrong tonight especially on defensive end. You add silly turnovers and bad defensive rebounding-that’s a recipe for losing. One thing about coaching tonight I didn’t get was Udoka played a lineup that went stagnant in the 3rd for too long (Uncle, Amen, Cam, Holliday, Smith) that lineup was stale with low energy and no offense. They weren’t playing together on both ends. Not sure why he stuck with that lineup for so long.

I'm splitting the blame this time. Half Udoka and half the players who couldn't punish the Heat leaving them open. Udoka's offense did not look like it could be efficient against their defense (it's a miracle Alpi got his numbers anyway).

Also, when the offense is not working, players miss more shots than usual. Yes, the player missed the shots. Yes, the player is responsible AND there are other factors (not mutually exclusive). You act like we didn't just go through this with Jabari/Silas with a bunch of you saying "Well why can't Jabari just MAKE the open shot??". So what made him for from 30% to 39%? It's not like he's more open, he was wide open all of last season. There's more to scoring than that. They destroyed our spacing, passing, rhythm. They made sure we never got on a roll, never giving us points that energize the team.

Spo definitely won this battle with Udoka. He has the lesser roster and home court advantage. It was a fair fight. That's ok to lose 1 coaching battle to Spo, it has happened to some of the best coaches of all time. They played like their culture has been in place for a decade and we played like our culture is amazing but was installed just a couple months ago. We learn and grow from it. No biggie. It's good for Udoka's ego to experience that too, unless he wants to alienate his players. All great coaches sometimes say "that one was on me" even though their players missed the shots.

I get all the handwringing and talk about mistakes and lack of effort and poor coaching decisions and yada yada…but if between Jalen and Jabari they just hit 5-6 more shots this is a completely different game.

For all the talk of Sengun being shut down by their defense he still ended up with 22 points shooting over 50% from the field.

Everything within a game isn’t going to go right, but when you have two guys you depend on for offense having games like that you aren’t going to beat many decent teams.

And when they return let's get Tate & Holiday out of the rotation. Cam has earned his minutes

Udoka needs to bring in Jalen off the bench for a game or 2 maybe that will get him and this offense going a bit more

There's not that many easily winnable games on this road trip. Could be a few games under . 500 by the time they return

Udoka is a great coach. Only two coaches better than him are Nurse and Spoelstra. His problem on the road continues to be size and bulk. We just didn’t have anyone tall enough to stop Adabayo and old men like Love were pushing our skinny guys around with ease at the basket. It is a real problem folks that needs to be addressed!

The main problem was abysmal shooting from Green and Jabari. 5-23 (3-13 from three). And bad perimeter defense against Herro who torches the Rockets every time. Make two more threes, make Herro miss one more three, we win.

Yes, I think because of the height and bulk, players are more easily to come out with less energy and why Ime is now talking about physicality and not enough energy or lack of effort....

Bad matchup. They had spacing. The Rockets didn't. As such, they were able to take away easy shots making the Rockets work. The Rockets weren't able to guard them to keep them from easy shots.

Smith has been off offensively since spraining his ankle. Not sure if because of the ankle or just a random bad shooting spell.

Bari had a bad game. Jalen had another "oh jalen" game.
