Rockets are in a great position. They could just sit back and let this young core develop and could potentially have a homegrown contender in 3-4 years once they get in their primes.

We just need to sit back and wait. Sengun and Jabari are the only current untouchables. If the right star comes available Houston will easily have the best package of BKN picks and young players.

Booker would be my current target.

Dallas is a Kyrie injury away from being a ****-show.

A Luka + Sengun duo might be worth cashing everything in.

Those aren't remotely comparable situations and you know it. The Nets are stuck -- they have a good #2 guy in Bridges with no real ability to get a #1. Trading with us is the only way for them to retake their future. I'm not saying they will, but it's not a ludicrous thought.

By the way, bringing up Haliburton and AD as counterpoints is odd considering, you know, both were traded.

Yeah I have had a few Locked on Nets Youtube vids on in the background this last week. They are definitely NOT happy.

Dunks and Threes add a playoff probabilities to their website with expected wins recently. Their expected win total for the Nets is 37 wins for the 8th spot pre-lottery for the draft (Rockets 43 wins). They are in the mid 30s group with the Bulls, Hawks, Raptors, and Jazz. Even with Bulls and Raptors trading away some pieces, I expect this will be an interesting race for the 7th through 11th pick pre lottery provided the Nets don't win 2 in the play-in tournament.

No way this happens outside of Booker kicking up a storm. But he might. He's literally the picture perfect player for this team. Maybe the Suns blow it up if Durant/Beal can't get it done this year and Book isn't going to deal with another rebuild. FVV/Booker/Brooks/Jabari/Sengun is a potential WCF team. Cam will eventually be Dillon's replacement and Amen will be Fred's.

PG's are so underrated in this league. No one ever thinks about Tony Parker when it comes to Spurs chips. Amen has so much potential as an obscene floor general with All NBA Defensive upside. Suns have been a trainwreck since CP3 left.

Our defense would be atrocious. Luka is a PG and does not really fit our team.

The play in has given all of these teams an incentive to not tank. Anyone within a stone's throw of 10th still has some motivation to win. Without the play in the Grizzlies probably would have written this season off completely, but even they have a decent opportunity to make the playoffs and are still trying. I'd consider them in that mid 30s group as well.

This works in our favor because the more teams that want to compete for the playoffs the better. Brooklyn could be pushed down. However, it's a double edged sword because Brooklyn has almost no shot of reaching 8th in the East but can still make the playoffs because of the play in tournament. That would be worst case scenario for us. I guess I couldn't complain about the 15th pick.

Alexandre Sarr 7’1” and 7’5” wingspan. He’s a bigger, more fluid and more athletic version of Jabari. His body is more filled out than Jabari, Chet or Wemby. Reminds me of KG with how he moves and his skill set.

Speaking with Nets fans....seems like they'd want one of Cam, Jalen or Amen in addition to all of the picks back for Bridges/Claxton.

Which extrapolated would mean that we would have traded James Harden and a Top 5 talent (Jalen, Cam or Amen) for Mikal Bridges, Tari Eason and Nick Claxton.

    We'll keep the picks thanks.

No way I give up Amen or Cam. The complicated factor with Bridges is he will require near max, if not max to re-sign after 2024. Sengun and Jabari are going to get two max (not super max) slots. There will be one more for Jalen, Amen, Tari, or Cam, whichever one earns it. My guess is that at least 3 of the 4 will earn it. It is going to be a good problem to have, but a problem nonetheless.

Exactly. Cam, Amen and Jalen are all on cost controlled contracts for a while and all 3 of them are outplaying their contracts. Mikal isn't a max contract level player. He's a 3rd banana and that's why the Nets suck. We have at least two guys (Amen, Sengun) that are Tier 1 prospects and another three that are probably all beyond Mikal Bridges as prospects in Cam, Jalen and Jabari. Chance that Jalen gets an extension this summer and Sengun will eventually get the first max.

The Nets are ****ed. I'm not even sure I'd want Mikal/Claxton for those picks at this point considering one of them could turn into Cooper Flagg or Cam Boozer. Which would be hilarious.

Bridges is worth a lot, but not near what they are asking from us if that is the case. I might give them their 24 for Claxton, if we can’t find a better deal. Claxton is better than the backup big we would get with a mid round pick

Claxton is a UFA this summer. We'd have to shell out a lot of money immediately to retain him as Sengun's backup. Or we could simply lose him outright if he prefers a starting job elsewhere. Plus their 2024 pick might end up being top ten. They're currently tied with Chicago for the 9th worst record.

I don't think the Rockets will shell out big money for a backup C. IMO, it's more likely they make a big splash at their weakest position (SG).

Heh, or they could do both.
