The guards are too much of one trick ponies....so yeah it is easy to game plan.....

And basically if you are a tall team, the Rockets will have problems......

I likes your post, we are small and it would be different when we have 6’8 Tari and bully Dillion BUT, we need a PHYSICAL AND TOUGH backup BIG MAN….I’m glad Green, Jabari and Cam played well….Sengun always play well…we are getting better but Stone needs to get off of his hands

That's fair. Although I did notice a couple of times we pump faked and instead of repositioning behind the line, we drove in. Sometimes Green can be effective at driving and kicking (when he's not getting stripped from behind) and want to see more of that.

Unfortunately, in-season trades mostly happen under duress, which is what the trade deadline causes.

Tate will be gone by February 8th; pinky promise.

excellent post. I've been monitoring Day'ron Sharpe on the nets for a while, and I think he'd be the perfect backup Center for the rockets. Young, athletic big who I think has potential.

I actually do not mind Tate, the problem is you only have Jeff Green, Landale, Holiday.....journey men on the bench other than rookies.

Collecting cheap bench players is not the way to go.......and then you front load 40 millions for Fred and 27 million for Dillon Brooks.....

Yeah, Green can play make to a degree. But as you said everything becomes extremely risky when he's at risk of getting stripped on every drive.

Guy is not strong enough and not good enough at handling the ball, plain and simple....and in his 3rd year.....

Some weaknesses are here to stay....

Now you have Green, Jabari and Amen who all have questionable handles......

Green has the same turnover rate as guards like Booker and Ant Edwards with their respective first 3 years.

Fred and Dillon are worth their salary though. Also Brooks is only making 21.5M not 26M.

    https://www.spotrac.com/nba/houston-rockets/dillon-brooks-23646/

Our deadweight salary are Oladipo at 9M, Landale at 8M, Bullock at 3M, Boban at 3M and then Rox have like ~5M left in caps pace. There's more than enough space to add a quality backup, I guess problem is one available? I can only see guys like Olynk being available.

Ball handling is not really just about not committing TOs....... he is very hesitant in all his moves.....that delays fluidity and such.

Ya I don't understand what you are referring to. Green has shown creative handles. His handles are about confidence. When he's scoring well his confidence boosts and he gets deeper into his bag. Hos ability to be good is highly dependent on his conference. Confidence is what makes him not second guess things. But the problem is he only gets confident when he gets to dominate the ball. He has to get used to being able to not be the focal point of an offense and then turn it on when the team needs him to turn it on. He has to be able to have tight handles even if he doesn't touch the ball for a 4 or 5 possessions in a row.

If you play ball you understand how different the ball feels when you are in a game where you stand in a corner and suddenly are asked to do something vs having the ball most of the game. The ball just feels different.
