Is The loose ball you are talking about would likely be turnovers. But his TO rate isn't bad considering that he is mostly used as the ball handler when he is playing. His at rim FG% is very good and 25% of his shots are from there. That's why his 2pt% is so high. But if he doesn't up his 3pt shooting, people will sag off of him and his driving will be limited. Anyway, everything is from a small sample size and mostly spot minutes. So take the stats with a grain of salt for now.
Solid minutes from Amen tonight. He is pretty good at rotating defensively and had a really good scramble defensive rotation after a nets offensive rebound that i remember standing out as very good. The kid really is a jumpshot away from being really legit.
You can see him slowly starting to get it. I would like to see him get a little more aggressive when attacking the paint, but he is ahead of schedule with his shot. If Green can continue to improve, Amen Green and Cam have the potential to become the most electrifying perimeter group in basketball.
Another solid performance in limited minutes. I predict this thread will look dumber and dumber as the season unfolds. the thing is, Amen can still make an impact even if he’s not shooting well.
How can someone with this much athleticism not be a 80% at the FT line? It is simple ridiculous that a forward gets to this level and is complete **** from the FT line.
lol. There is no direct relationship between being an athlete and a good FT shooter. Also, he's been a PG, not a forward for a while.
His shot is looking rough. 3 air balls in the last two games. They didn’t even try to guard him on the last one. Missed a foot left and six inches short.
Him and his brother are ridiculously behind the curve. This is why 4 year college players exist. But then again this is what happens when your entire basketball career is against kids 2-3 years younger than you. The jump from college to the NBA is hard enough, going from a YMCA league to the NBA is even harder.
They were 20 playing against some 16 year olds. So try 4 years. The average ranked prospect in OTE was 17. Think kids like Naas Cunningham playing a year before college.
This is what really bothered me about drafting Amen. All the great players have childhood stories of playing up and going against guys 2-3 years older than them. I followed the Thompson twins pre-OTE and they were significantly older than their peers at their HS prior. They join a league where they're now even older than their competititon by a wide margin. Mind you, they were the first commits so the league when they joined didn't have the talent they have now (which isn't high tbh). It's the classic case of guys playing down and looking better because of it. How is that not the biggest red flag?
Amen and Ausar have always been in the elite tier of athletes his entire life and havd probably coasted on just his athleticism alone. Hence why neither of them have placed any emphasis on their shooting which is now coming to bite them on their ass. I blame his junior coaches most though; they've been the ones who have likely been content with seeing their star athlete win and not rounded out their deficiencies.
He is not ready to run the second unit and that's ok. But we need someone that can asap. FVV gonna die out there.
What?! He is nothing like Ben Simmons! Ben had mental and emotional problems that is the reason he cannot complete his basketball obligations. Amen is a great player but we are knew his shooting is a problem for now. Scoot Henderson is having problem with his shot…is he a bust? Is Wemby a bust? Amen is going to be a Star! We did not have a SUMMER LEAGUE and only played 13 games so far while other players have played over 30 games. NO SUMMER LEAGUE! Only 13 GAMES! A ROOKIE! Bye Felicia!
