The Spurs and Mavs are 2 of the organizations that gave the franchise to the International players so every International player would want to play for them.... The Rockets are very reluctant to give the keys to Sengün, that is why the organization is so helter skelter and not run well......such a bad PR move in the beginning. This was a smart move by RC Buford.....
Agreed 100%. It allowed Cuban to cash in on the franchise. Having Luka fall into his lap was insane but shows why the Hawks are where they are. At least we have our own in Alpi who has respect around the league
The Hawks have Bogdanovic......he is not a superstar but he is a 21 ppg sniper......at least Serbians know the Hawks are serious.
He's someone who I'd love to acquire in a trade although he's likely not on the table. He'd fit perfectly in the offense
Hawks are probably sellers at the deadline. I suspect Young is who they shop considering the returns these guys are getting
Regardless whether he is or isn't the posters here on CF acting like they know better than his own teammates whether KPJ was an ahole or not crack me up.
Okay fine call him what you want but my question still stands. How can you think this was a successful rebuild considering what you think about Sengun? You've been very clear that you think he's overrated, you are 100% certain that he is not that guy and he never will be. The whole point of a rebuild is to contend for a championship. And to contend for a championship you have to find a bonafide superstar. You need to find someone who is in the same tier as Jokic, Lebron, Giannis, Curry, Kawhi, KD, Kobe...or even the guys who came up short but are still pretty obviously good enough, guys like Butler, Tatum, Embiid, or Luka. To have a successful rebuild you need to find a guy that is on the same level as all the guys I mentioned, that's how you win a championship. That doesn't mean we should all be miserable until someone gets to that level, but you at least need players with POTENTIAL to get to that level. Someone you look at and say "I think he'll be that good one day." Like Orlando with Paolo, he's clearly not as good as those guys, but he looks like he absolutely could get there. Or even Franz. If you don't think Sengun has the potential to do that then hasn't this rebuild been underwhelming? If I shared your opinions on Sengun I certainly wouldn't be happy with it. Clearly Jalen isn't that guy, Jabari isn't that guy. And we all know it's not FVV or Dillon Brooks. Are you hitching your wagon to Whitmore and/or Amen after only seeing them play like 100 nba minutes? I just don't understand how anyone could be happy with the rebuild if they think Sengun's absolute ceiling is Luis Scola.
Well, it should not crack you up because as I said those type of humans exist in the real world too.... It is not something because he is a giant guy who likes to play basketball and he is some sort of different human being. He was not.
Good point, I think the rebuild was underwhelming that it has not produced the quantity of quality players I would have liked. The 16th and 17th pick turned out way better. You still ended up with a team that is probably without a trade and without FVV's contract probably a future Top 6-7 seed. If one of Whitmore and Thompson becomes a star, then you are probably fighting for HC advantage but not guaranteed.
That definitely wasn't my point...I think the rebuild has been a huge success, there's nothing underwhelming about it at all. I think Sengun is that guy. And I think Jabari has potential to be a #2 option on a championship team while also being a perfect fit with Sengun. My point is that you're holding contradictory opinions if you think 1) the FO did a perfect job with this rebuild, and 2) Sengun will never be better than Luis Scola. You can't think both of these things at the same time.
I'm not sure what that means. What other teams? We got the best prospect from the 2021 draft and our likely franchise player. In a 2022 redraft, Bari goes top 5 and Eason goes top 10. And Amen and Cam both look really good at this very early juncture. Not to mention we've barely touched any of the Nets' assets. I'm not sure how it could have reasonably gone better. Even the "mistakes" turned out okay. Like, if we would have drafted Mobley or kept Allen, then I seriously doubt we draft Sengun.
Unless, you still think #2 and #3 picks are better than your #16 pick and #16 pick should be a role player coming off the bench...isnt that what you think @rocketchamp ?
