I'd disagree. Stone tanked to get Wemby. They just didn't land him. Despite his recent successes Jalen looks like a miss. The jury is still out on Jabari. He missed on Garumba, TyTy and Christopher. Depending on who you believe he was talked into Sengun. He had to spend money so FVV and Brooks were two that didn't have a market. Obviously they've worked out but that was no stroke of genuis by Stone Stone isn't a good gm
So the misses are his fault, but "depending on who you believe" the hits "he was talked into". Why not just assume they were all a collective effort which is what has been reported in the past?
Our young core is not even over 25 & developing, and our key free agents are both over achieving. Our coach is also COY candidate. You also forgot to mention we're WINNING. Any other GM you'd be kissing his feet
I think he's a bad gm. I won't sugarcoat that. What are his hits exactly? The Sengun trade up and pick has been discussed and it appears he was talked into it. He had to spend the money on the FA class. We had to overpay to even get them. What exactly has he done well out of curiosity. The Ime hire was good. I'll give him that
I would? That's a huge overreach on your part. Just because your opinion on Stone differs from mine your reaction of "any other gm you'd be kissing his feet" screams of immaturity
have u ever licked a stone, like at a beach or something somewhere? just to check its colors. i dont mean anything else.
I'll even expand on it. He allowed KPJ to completely torpedo the team, Jalen Green to not develop whatsoever, Sengun not to be used correctly and Silas to be completely worthless in every aspect. That's a terrible gm
If he didn't get Silas we wouldn't have Jalen Green and co. How did KPJ "torpedo the team"? Jalen Green not developing is his own fault, why is Cade balling out in Detroit? They got a joke coach and even worse results than the Rockets. Sengun? Stone drafted Sengun genius. Blame the dude who got your guy, what a bright move.
I think about this quote a lot as I see Sengun succeed. It means Tilman and the front office did not see what Sengun would be capable of, otherwise they wouldn't have resulted to desperation prayers when asked how does the team get better. I personally was unsure what Sengun's ceiling would be, I wanted a new coach and to give him time to develop under new leadership / not sell low on him and it seems to be working out. However, I would think the team would have had better foresight as it is their job.
All reports were that KPJ was not only a lazy a-hole on the court but also one off. That's before you even get to the domestic violence. Skipping practice, leaving at halftime, fighting with Lucas....I mean do you need more on KPJ? He is a terrible person and along with Silas certainly didn't help Green. I do agree Green is also responsible. No argument there. Detroit fans were roasting Cade and wanted him gone. He's obviously on a hot streak but that's disingenuous on your end. The bright move is to look at the entire picture. Nobody including myself knew Sengun would be this good this quick. We can agree to disagree but Stone is not a good gm.
Nothing on your post is really relevant. I didn't see anybody say KPJ was lazy on and off the court, you got Stephen Silas crying when KPJ got that extension. I know you don't think much of Silas but regardless of his ability if KPJ was an ******* would his coach be happy for him? Lol. Detroit fans roasting Cade are just as clueless as you, thats why Cade balling out now makes them look like a clown. Rox started this rebuild 3 yrs ago with Fat suit Harden wanting out, the oldest team in the league and their picks going to OKC. 3 yrs later they are on track to make the playoffs, have a 21 yr old all star center, a bunch of high lotto prospects AND still about to get lotto picks and swap courtesy of Brooklyn Nets. You want big picture? that's big picture. We don't have to agree on anything especially when you are clearly wrong.
I won't bother responding to personal insults. You need to grow up and have the ability have a normal conversation. When you are able to grasp that you can tag me and we'll revisit the conversation
How do you simultaneously think that stone has done everything right while also thinking that Sengun is a bum and building around him is a mistake?
Just for future reference there are a number of reports on how toxic KPJ was in case we do revisit this conversation civily. Just Google. @roslolian
It seems that people don't like Sengun or his fans here for whatever reason despite all he's accomplished so far and being far and away our best player. People in general hate being wrong but it's a weird hill to die on
Spurs have been the worst run franchise in the nba for years, with only toronto giving them a run for their money the last couple. They have probably the worst coach in the nba (worse then silas), so idk why he wanted to even go there
Forget all the noise. He’s a great kid that not only deserves but has earned our fandom. Jalen is winning me over with his professional. Not everyone can be a superstar. But you can always show up and work hard.
