It's true. 3 easy baskets just by cutting or more with 2 man game with Alpi 4 freebies from the FT line 2 iso plays where he beats his man 2 fastbreak baskets. 2. threes that should be an easy 22 points for Green on 15 shots rolling out of a midnight fashion show. But they refuse to cut to the basket. They refuse to pass on the transition attempts. Who ever gets it tries to run a 1 man fast break. Stuff we'd complain with Christian Wood. They refuse to call the contact when he does drive.
I don’t think Jalen’s game resembles Brewers at all. But, Brewer was a marginal positive contributor in his career, a level Jalen has yet to get to. That’s a way closer comp in terms of how good a player is than those who compare Jalen to all time freaking greats, or current superstars like Anthony Edwards.
Moving off the ball is a hard skill to learn for players who grew up in AAU culture. Even James Harden can't do it so not surprised Jalen is struggling. However he is trying and at times like tonight he has good games even when the shot is falling. I don't defend Jalen when he has a bad game but anyone who knows bball and watched the game knew he had a good game today.
Brewer at age 21 scored 5 pts on 37% FG and looked like a bust. Green is clearly better than that at the same age so nah they aren't close unless you don't watch the game. Whatever happened to watching the games?
100% agree, but it has to happen at some point, or Sayonara kid. His first half was rough, but he turned it on. Still hopeful for JG.
Anyway this game was pretty good, every win over the Nets is worth more cuz it improves our pick. Wasn't impressed with Cam Thomas and Mikal Bridges, I guess Nets are extremely overrated after that hot start. I know he is a far cry from Presti but if we pick in the top 10 next year while also making the playoffs it is pretty clear Stone did an impressive job with our rebuild. Usual suspects were good, Jabari and Green were off but contributed in other areas. Biggest highlight are the young guns finally contributing. I think Amen already carved a spot in the rotation, hopefully Cam as well after tonight.
I think he is developing and still have hope for him. Sil@ss loser ball coaching is hard to overcome.
Don't think it was a TERRIBLE game from Jalen, because he had a pretty good third quarter, but it definitely wasn't a good one. His three looks better, as I said earlier, but he has GOT TO FINISH INSIDE!! Too many times he gets blocked because he's attacking from the wrong angle or doesn't attack strong enough. He's actually pretty dexterous around the rim, but it doesn't matter if he can't get there and/or he's totally off balance by the time he reaches it. But this game wasn't about Jalen, it was about how great our whole team looked in parts of the second half--without our best defender to boot! THAT'S what will provide me some joy between now and our next game against Minny
for those saying jalen had a positive game, not sure what you guys are watching - i still hate his effort and it is nowhere near nba starter level. there was a play where he made a terrible post entry pass to alperen and turned the ball over, then jogged back and was the last man back on defense, then didn't even get into a defensive stance when on ball - lucky for him, the guy he was guarding just passed the ball to someone else so jalen just stood around going thru the motions the rest of the possession until brooklyn threw up a brick and we got the rebound. obviously this doesn't show up in the stats.. but with ime and his coaching staff, hopefully this **** stops or he gets benched because that sort of effort really pisses me off. jalen is the worst on our team in terms of playing with aggression, physicality, and effort.
Team is definitely improving. Now if they could just stop the 3-game losing streaks and rebound with a win after only 1 loss, they would be solidly in the playoffs and actually avoid the play in.
The Nets had generated 6 more Steals 2 more Blocks 8 fewer Turnovers 2 more Rebounds More Scoring opportunities which they missed......
I only just got to watch the replay and League Pass cut out the Power Dancers. @TimDuncanDonaut is the real MVP
ROX win --- More Jalen slander after a + 17 night I bet some of these haters would probably try to convince you Mikal Bridges had a better game or could be the better player for this team long term! LOL Shoutout to Alpie this was the first game where he carried this team to a WIN. That genuinely impressed me. Looking forward to that leadership and these outcomes vs "contenders" in critical games/series. The Big CP (calming presence).
