Jalen was a +17 for the game. Tied with Sengun for second. Impacts the game in ways other than scoring these days. People loved describing him as the "worst player in the league" with these same stats when he had the worst +/- his rookie year. Jalen also came in with the starters and was first on the board to put the game away. His counterpart, Cam Thomas who a lot of people were pining for to replace Jalen, can't defend, can't pass and has missed his last 18 shots. He's a frustrating and inconsistent player but people who just rail on him even in wins are way more annoying.
He had 4 assist so I dunno how he had that "with zero playmaking and ball handling". +17 without passable defense. Lol
Of course not, it was just a particularly unflattering play. As for the whole game, like I said, it seemed like he was getting swatted or turning it over anytime he tried to create. Once we took the ball out of his hands for good the game was easily won.
I guess not everyone recognises that catching the ball and passing around the perimeter to a shooter who shoots and scores warranting an assist, isn't the same as breaking down a defense and assisting. You see, when Jalen's asked to break down a defense, it usually results in a turnover. Baby steps though in learning basketball. Seems like that's the approach the organisation is taking with Jalen and fundamentals, so that's the approach the board should take with Jalen fans and their basketball comprehension. Kind of crazy his past couple of games/halves where he's played well.... he's literally been asked to catch it and shoot. Nah nah. Just a coincidence that he's not asked to play make with the ball.
So passing around to an open man for assists doesn't count as playmaking? What does playmaking mean to you?
Yeah I get his Green obsession. But its as if the only reason he watches games is to argue about that...I'm not sure he actually enjoys watching basketball.
Single game +/- is absolutely useless. If that’s your argument then that’s really grasping at straws. Any and every advanced stat says Jalen is by far our worst starter. Also, whatever happened to watching the game?
Jalen Green, my man, just move without the ball. Freaking Jae'Sean gets buckets every game just being a cutter off of Sengun. This should be 80% of your diet. Relocate for threes and cut to the basket, all game long. For the love of god stop ball-watching. He is making it so damn difficult on himself. You weigh 180lbs, so RUN RUN RUN... RUN!!!
That is literally the definition of hot potato passing hahahaha. You're a sad case. Almost as sad as Jalen being drafted with the #2 pick. Thank god the team drafted an actual basketball player to save face in that draft. Ok ok lets for fun just go down the Jalen is a play maker role. 4 assists. JALEN YOU'RE AMAZING!!!! Oh.... wait..... 4 turnovers.... Jalen fans: HE MADE 5 FIELD GOALS HE HAD A GOOD GAME!!!!!! Imagine if in every day life all of us had the same impact in our professions. Mostly bad, sometimes average, on the rare occasion competent and good. I wonder how many of us would last long in that role. Lets not use common sense with the Jalen good game fans though.
Yehoshua Issa Immanuel Messiah...... How much did his man score on him? They published article some days ago where they said Green is holding his man to 40/41 fg%........ Is that good? Its 4 quarters in a game and we all know Jalen will have a head scratching turnover or two per game But if you avg out those 4 that is two turnovers per half, now if he avg VV apg numbers then those 4 TOs wouldn't be so magnified But since you dislike a player on a team you allegedly root for, then each shot missed or turnover is like happening 3x in your antiGreen state of mind, it is what it be, he had 4 turnovers, 1 per quarter, whoopty doo Its the 5-6+ TO games he needs to clean out his system, and hit open shots and finish stronger at rim
Bobby is wrong about some things and right about others, at least he has the courage to put his opinions out there so I respect that. As for the Corey Brewer comparison, that’s actually a hell of a lot closer than those of you who compared him to Kobe or hell, even Anthony Edwards.
Jalen is indeed our worst starter but it doesn't mean he is a bad player just our starters are really good. Watching the game is also really important but when you have an agenda you see what you want to see.
So that's all the Spurs did was hot potato pass to 5 titles in the Duncan era? Isn't being a team player, part of playmaking? You know, making the right or extra pass
Brewer entered the league at age 21 and is a career 28% from 3. He is a high energy, scrappy guy known more for defense than offense. He is also a SF for most of his playing career and didn't even play the same role as Jalen. People don't bring Brewr to score buckets they brought him in to make scrappy plays and defend. They are really far apart Tari is closer to Brewer than Jalen. You agree with Bobby I guess you are delulu like him. So much for "watching the game" clearly you don't even watch how Jalen plays.
Jalen is on a mission to make Jalen look like a scrub. I'm just not lying and trying to spin another awful performance into a "good game"
Came in after the rooks got sloppy, made a quick 3, then made an assist for a 3, played good defense and iced the game with the starters. Not only that came out strong in the 3rd to put the rocks up big in that 3rd along side alpi again, scoring 9 in the 3rd. Was a winning player out there today. Doesnt matter tho, he lost that inbounds in the 2nd and got blocked at the rim twice. Scrub
He has a few moments most games where he puts it together. I think he and Jabari both are feeling their way through the emergence of a dominant star in Alperen Sengun. They both could be WAY better moving off the ball.
