While I don't personally agree with Representative Collins (I am a huge Green Day fan since Dookie), all evaluations of art are inherently subjective. No piece is objectively better or worse than any other. The best song, painting, movie, dance, or whatever artistic expression to you is the one you like the most. Nothing else matters in the evaluation.

It is true that *all* knowledge is subjective; objectivity however derives from what is usually termed "intersubjective testability" or "intersubjective agreement." Aesthetics judgments, while subjective, aren't made in a vacuum and aren't arbitrary. The fact that people widely share such judgments is evidence of a type of objectivity to the judgments. The epistemological theory that explains such claims about knowledge and objectivity is referred to as realism or critical realism.
