It means Alperen went from 12.9% at basketball to 17.5% at basketball. It says it right there in the tweet, duh.

Not that this stat (what the hell does it even mean) is the super meaningful, but it does illustrate something that I think is an important point for MIP. The award is for MOST IMPROVED, which means biggest improvement from last year to this year. And for some reason it seems like most people interpret the award as "best player that made a big improvement." Like all the debate over MIP that I've seen is just "Maxey clears" and "Maxey better" which I don't even disagree with. Maxey is a better player. But Maxey was really good last year too, and I think Sengun has made a bigger year over year improvement despite not being as good as Maxey. So I think Sengun deserves the award, but I don't think he'll win it. It's frustrating.

yeah, and some others think the improvement at the higher levels is harder, like going from top 50 player to top 20 is easier than top 20 to top 10. So they consider the latter most improved.

It is not important if he wins MIP award, he will be an allstar player and become the best centers of NBA- definitely top 5 center-will carry Jokic legacy after him...
He is looking for his Murray and this is Ime's job to find him right partner...
Sengun is a great talent, his importance for Rockets can not be told with statistics..
In reality, right now, Rockets offense means Sengun...
With increase in 3 pt shot and a little bit more concentration, his path will be from all star to superstar.
European players in NBA have more chance to be better players than American players in the last 5-10 years, because they are trained under great coaches in Europe, Who teach them fundamentals. In Europe, players with 6'9 or 7'00 learn dribbling, cutting and learn to play like guards, so Alperen is and will shine faster than Green.
But l like our Kids, l would like to see deadly Green Sengun plays, like Murray and Jokic..

That's valid and if I saw someone make that argument I'd understand it. But I haven't seen it anywhere, literally just "Maxey is better" and that's it.

It's important to me because I bet on him to win it :)

If you think the Sengunians on CF are wild, you should never read translated Turkish Instagram comments

Nah guys, let me clear one thing. The swearing you have in English is nothing close to Turkish. There are cultural differences, you can not take the chicken translation in this case. It is more like `Sengun has big cojones`. Happy new year btw!
