Yeah, I think that’s true about Green needing a playmaker around him but more specifically - he needs a spaced floor which is something harder to do if Landale and Sengun are on the court which is why missing on Brook Lopez was so tragic.

As someone else mentioned in another thread(maybe @Easy ), playing around sengun needs more basketball iq, doing more reads, understanding how to move etc. That hasn't been green's game but it is something that he can improve on. The problem is, he cannot do the things that he was expected to do, shooting and getting to do rim, even if he has spacing right now. So the list of improvements is too big, which makes things harder.

Make a list of 29 other NBA teams. How many of their starting 5, is actually a spacer. Is it a majority or an actual minority.

Then for the non spacing 5 teams, are they all really bottom teams? Or do they have a guard who is in top 50, and could still make it work.

For the teams with a space 5, is that center still relatively close to the basket for rebounds. Or only always stand on the 3pt line.

Instead of blaming on a teammate (the center), maybe just git gud at finishing at the rim.

You are either a p***y magician healer with intelligence OR you carry the Ultra great Sword into battle as a Warrior. It's an easy decision.

All I know is, I have seen many a not so bright NBA player be effective and productive.

After the Rockets got Westbrook, they quickly realized that Westbrook was unplayable because he could not shoot and the lane is clogged with Capela, a non-spacing 5. What they did was get rid of ALL non-spacing centers and played a 6'6 Tucker at the 5. That proverbial "small ball" actually worked.

Green is like a poor man's Westbrook at this point if he can't hit the 3pt shot at a high percentage. The Rockets aren't going to get rid of Sengun for the benefit of Green. So either Sengun or Green becomes a good 3pt shooter or they can't really function well together.

True, even a few superstars I suppose. I don't think basketball IQ is necessarily the same thing as general intelligence though. For some guys it's just instinctive.

I've had this issue too and I don't think there's any way to know definitively on nba.com. However, one context clue you can use is that Ime always has 1 center on the floor, and Jeff Green plays center. So far this entire season the team only has 32 total minutes played without one of Sengun/Landale/Boban/Jeff Green.

So if you don't see Sengun, Boban, or Landale in the lineup, that means J. Green is going to be Jeff Green. That means the first lineup you've posted here is definitely with Jeff Green. The second one I think could go either way. The third one has both, so no mystery there. And the last one I'm also fairly certain is Jeff Green, although it is only 2 minutes.

That's kind of an embarrassment for nba.com, their site cannot distinguish between two players.

after looking at the stats, it seems that the player are written in a particular order. And in that order Jeff green is the first. So the 5s with green as the first name are with Jeff, which is consistent with what you said.
