A bit hyperbole on prime Arvydis comp but dead serious on better than Domantas in every way at same age

Morris wasn't even that bad. This Alpi thing gets you a pass for the next decade of drafts.

Unfortunately this was a W too. Mobley x Sengun would have been a generational front court.

Morris isn’t that bad. Problem is I said if he isn’t a tweener and develops handles as a wing then he can be poor man’s Carmelo. He was a tweener/pf. To be fair I was in my mid 20s and didn’t know basketball as well.

He did it twice, too. He also recommended Tari. I am very confident that Tari will have a long and successful NBA career.

As of today, do you think he can keep up with NBA pace?

Also, can he be the starting center in a team that's top 5 in defensive rating?

Wasn't Sengun on Rocket org's top 10 board? So after Jalen, Stone/Eli were making the calls to get him, until they lucked correctly, and moved up to get OKC's 16th.

On the athletic ball > skill ball, lot of GMs think this way. Premise being player X has to be athletic (natural talent), then skills can be honed later. While on surface, the premise has some merit, but it's flawed if that's the whole picture. As we've seen last few years, can't under-estimate the skill floor, especially when the org (in our case Silas) has no proven track record of developing.

Weaver is a good example. He loved athleticism and was credited for Westbrook when under Presti. Problem is when he went to the Pistons, it's Bey, it's Bagley, it's Wiseman, Troy definitely has a type. Over valued athleticism, that quadrant of importance can't be weighted in 90% of one's evaluation. There's also general athleticism (how high Wiseman can jump) vs applying that athleticism to do good basketball things (Tari's OFF REB).
