Every single time I see a player wide open, and then see Jalen come from out of the picture because he's gotten lost on defense and his man is on an island.

    I chuckle.

Because there's idiots - sorry - there's literally no other word for them at this point. Who genuinely think Jalen has improved or is even a positive defender.

    It is actual insanity.

It's a pity we're back to Jalen is the worst player in the league again territory. This team would be entrenched in the home court playoff battle if they had anyone at SG instead of Jalen.

    He isn't.

If he was talented, he wouldn't be so subpar at literally every single core basketball skill.

He is the textbook definition of a player who got by his entire life by being more athletic than the opposition.

Then when he comes up against people of comparable athleticism - or supreme skill to his own - he looks like a boy amongst men.

It is sickening this franchise was duped by a highlight video.

Made even worse by the fact there were plenty of people who don't get paid millions of dollars each year and basketball isn't their 9-5 job - who upon seeing the highlight video had very concerning doubts to his ability.

Bagley’s second deal was 3/37. Reddish 2/4.5. Mo Bamba 1/3.5. Malik Monk signed for $1.7mm with the Lakers, played pretty well, and after that only got 2/20 from the Kings. When you get into bust-ish territory the money drops a lot on the second deal, especially as a guard.

Sexton’s 4/70 would be a good hope for Green but his stock wasn’t as low as Green’s is now. But it’s a season and a half away so his stock could change, for better or worse.

There's not much to fix, it's very basic things like making open 3's and layups. Jalen can't do that, it's hard to ask for more

His value is dropping into that category before our eyes. He's averaging around 20 minutes a game now. If Cam and Amen continues to play better there's going to be nothing but Garbage time for Green.

I think the org will eventually keep him for a really small contract like Reddish, it really depends on his ego. He seems to not be an attitude problem, so they might let him stick around for a few more years

Jalen Green is who Charles Barkley talks about when describing players with good stats on a sorry team that actually suck.

I would trade him to the Pistons for Ivey and Stewart….Silas can help him back on track and get to play with Cade

If the “experts” are throwing in the towel too then you know there isn’t much trade value there, so unfortunately swindling another team looking to gamble on him in a trade isn’t a likely outcome either. We are stuck with him, and if you are a fan of the Houston Rockets, rather than any individual players, that’s a pretty bitter pill to swallow.

I agree that it seems like he’s a good guy and not someone to cause issues so far but if he gets to permanent 9th/10th man status I think he’s got to eventually be moved for a second round pick, Kennard caliber guard, or as salary for a bigger trade even if he has a good attitude. It’s just too uncomfortable all the way around having your one time savior playing 8-10 minutes a game.

Yeah it's wild, I think it's rare that you see a player where everything about their demeanour screams "get me the **** out of here." Especially when less than 12 months ago you saw the same player grinning whilst putting up monster games. Kid might even be depressed or some **** with how he looked tonight, we've seen him play bad, but I actually can't remember really seeing him look like he's actively avoiding participation and scared to shoot before.

A message for Jalen Green, from Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
    ballers should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a Green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

If this is how Jalen's career is going to peter out, I'd rather him go kicking and screaming into the abyss (Guangdong)

Awesome stats on a crap team is like an ugly girl with too much makeup. It can fool you for a time...

It's not too bad tbh, especially when you have Cam and Amen just waiting on the sidelines. It's a tough league, not everyone makes it

Not with efficiency numbers like the ones in his big games, that's not how it works. If you're putting up multiple 40pt 60/40/80 split games (which he did) and multiple 30pt 50/50/80 games (and in fact, the numbers are better than that, just rounding them to nice even numbers) in a season, equating to around a 5th of your games, with well over half of the games being over 20 pts, then you do have some talent. If it was just big counting stats with garbage efficiency all year then you'd have a point, but when you look at the numbers in his big games they're incredible, it's just that his bad games pulled all them averages right down. This year the big games are gone and the decent games are now his "big games" so he looks a lot worse in comparison.

Name a single good nba player that paints their nails and dry humps his teammates for fun in their spare time. I mean I hate to go there but the red flags might have been staring at us from the beginning. I would have loved it if Jalen broke the mold and became the first star for them since Dwight Howard but there’s a reason why most plateau at John Amaechi levels.

Like can you even imagine an absolute junk yard dog like Eason, or hell, Udoka, walking in on Jalen in the locker room painting his toe nails? What kind of respect do you think he has among his peers. Whenever we get this kid off our team I can guarantee you some of our players will be relieved and laughing their ass off behind the scenes.

The worse this gets, and it is getting to where he is consistently awful, the less I want to trade him. The value is nearly completely gone, we need to reduce minutes, find ways to get Cam/Amen involved so we can win these close games, and look for a trade to get someone solid and low cost in. We were able to get guys like Jeff Green and Holiday who are solid contributors. We do not need to swing for the fences on a trade this year, but bringing back someone like Eric Gordon or someone is not terrible like Jalen would help us get some wins. I would have some patience before just desperately throwing our assets at something. There will eventually be someone that comes along that is better than what anyone can see in front of us now.

He just looks worse and worse each game. Early in the year he had several good games in wins... instead of building on that he completely regressed.

This is actually worse than saying "Man, I can't believe how bad he is playing". Dude is straight up saying he's overrated, has always been, never was a fan and him being bad doesn't even hurt the Rockets cause it's expected.
