The news of the day is that Iran is days away from a working nuke. Now on one hand, they have been days away for years. But on the other, a nuclear Iran is an existential threat to Israel and Saudi Arabia.

JCPOA established a framework for monitoring and restricting Iran's nuclear activities through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)."

"This deal, if I win, will be a totally different deal. It will be a completely different deal." - Trump

The 'king of negotiation' pulled out of the JCPOA, promising to replace it with something better. However, he ended up replacing it with nothing, allowing Iran unrestricted uranium enrichment without international monitoring.

If Iran deveopes a nuke, it's on Trump's hubris.

That article didn't really add anything we didn't know before.
    • Implies Z is "not credible", wants direct talks with US. US says buzz off respectfully
    • P thinks Oct 7 is an opening for Western distraction, doesnt realize he destabilized a world order the SCO spent over a decade to foment. Ukraine and the future of NATO is a key issue that one to two year defense spending increases by EU members will not resolve. Admitting Sweden(?) and Finland is an affirmation everyone is serious about this.
    • Retaining all occupied territories is amenable, but the article doesn't even go into Ukrainian position (buzz off disrespectfully)
    • No one trusts Putin to keep his word. Any peace agreement is worth a cease fire for P to lick his wounds and break when it's advantageous for his next move,
When you look at Putin's public and unofficial remarks wrt Ukraine, it's not only to treat it as a backyard puppet state/buffer but also as a revisionist movement towards a unified Slavic state. Not only does Russia need more people, they're like our Orange Menace and prefer blue eyed blond folks rather than the cannon fodder from their eastern provinces,

It's a symbol of post USSR humiliation and very analogous with China's stance on Taiwan, Tibet and all other land the Qing lost to colonial powers.

Those who think a peace agreement is "good" (for us, for Ukraine, or the World) without some huge concessions by P is severely underestimating him. That's like "looking into his eyes and reading his soul" george dubly ****ed up bad.

If they make a "peace deal", expect it to pick up again in 3 or 4 years, like happened wirh the last "peace deal" in 2014. especially if Drumpf gets elected.

Obama tacitly agreed to let Iran have a nuke in return for Iran using its influence to get a mid-east peace deal. it was a disastrous policy, and trump was right to pull out.

did you see what I did there?

the whole mid-east mess is on Obama's and Biden's catastrophic naiveté vis the Mullahs.

Fair enough. None of them fully understood P or the russian mindset and each had a similar colossal blunder.

    W. Europe was a far worse enabler.

This is the clearest video so far of the Ukrainian missile strike against the Russian Ropucha-class landing ship in Crimea. According to some reports, 87 Russians were killed in the huge explosion.

The very large Russian landing ship ordinarily used for putting tanks, armored vehicles, and large numbers of troops on a beach during an assault was also being used for transporting a variety of things. In this case, reportedly packed with Iranian Shahed drones. Those drones carry very large warheads and it looks like a large number of them blew up. The upper half of the image below is what the ship normally looks like. The lower half is said to be the remains of it after the attack.

Shocking news... according to you @Commodore the Biden admin wanted to escalate the war and send troops to fight russia??? Are you forgetting the conspiracies you were spinning here??

It's almost as if biden has been wanting to end this for the past year. Zelensky coming to DC is all theater. I was right all along

By next November the war in Ukraine + Israel will be done.
