IDK what his role will be, but I am pretty sure folks around here will complain about his lack of playing time from the get go.
Nahhhh even for the fun of the title... He's an absolute teenager that grew way too fkn big and is damn near an NBA player just on size and some attitude. I get it. He's gonna be that guy in like 3 years.
Last year Green was a highlight reel every game.... This year he is boring and can't make a shot, what changed?
Offense has gained structure, he's not allowed to just run around randomly until he finds his rhythm, and he still can't really shoot. All this plus actual defensive responsibilities and possibly needing to use his head more has led to Jalen playing stiffer. He's also not receiving the benefit of the doubt on as many whistles as last year, possibly because he's attacking less (or attacking with less force). When he actually accelerates properly, he still draws a ton of FTs, though. I don't think he's afraid of making mistakes, but he's definitely in his own head sometimes, if I'm reading his body language right. I do think he's looked more comfortable in the last few games, but guess what? HIS SHOT IS STILL NOT THERE! Can't really be a good shooting guard without a shot
All of that can be fixed thou, even the shot.... He can get hot and when he does he is special. I think Jalen is really going to wake up during the 2nd half of the season. Patience is key..
I believe in Jalen Green. I just get frustrated with his play and sometimes will be more hyperbolic than I mean to be. But he's looked better in my eyes. I wish he would score better is all, I think the rest of his game is actually coming along rather nicely.
Scoring won't be a problem for Green in his career thou, dude is playing poorly and still averaging 17 ppg... Everything is there, he just has to put it together. He is crazy fast with insane hops, he naturally scores off of talent alone. Its fair to say he is just barely learning how to play professional basketball under Udoka. Green will likely be a 20ppg+ by the end of this season and starting next season. I get frustrated too, but I still believe... Its stupid not to.
