ClutchFans Game Thread: Mavericks @ Rockets 12/22/2023

Ok, useless trivia time. The Rockets' 12 losses this season have come via 4 separate 3-game losing streaks. And the middle losses of the first and fourth of those streaks were in OT because the Rockets failed to hit free throws in the final minute of regulation.

I guess the good news is they're consistent when they drop games.

No. Those shots are good. Step back is just for finding his rhythm.

 

Those shots are good if you're a proven star. I don't think they're going to impress Ime Udoka from a rookie trying to earn playing time under a directive of working on playing team-oriented basketball, though. Not to say there weren't other impressive things about Cam's performance, there definitely were. His defensive intensity was certainly there.

 

Great observations. With those good eyes you also probably saw that Cam was INSTANT offense. Not saying he should get 25 minutes but he needs to play when this team goes on those allergic to scoring droughts or when the #2 overall “bucket” goes 2-16

 

I think this game showed Cam deserves some mins, not that he is amazingly good but that there are times he can be on fire. Ime should give him the Holiday treatment and play him to see if he is on. When Alpi sits our offense crumbles down but it's the perfect time to have a guy like Cam who is all about scoring buckets and is increasingly comfortable scoring in isolation.

Cam at this stage is prob not good enough to play and understand the system but his talent is so high he can out talent the opponents bench at the very least. Don't see why he can't get some time vs opponent bench and do his damage there. He got a point for every min played and also played very good defense he deserves some PT at this point.

The Rockets are undefeated when Cam play. Must play him more.

 

Another win in the books and we also got to see the young guys play extended minutes. The starters got to sit early to rest for tomorrow’s game, so I’m pretty satisfied. Until tomorrow, goodnight!!

 

you should cap more bench's reaction. especially Tari's reaction/celebrations. his is always hilarious

 

Yeah, I'd like to see Cam get a little playing time, especially when Jalen is having a bad game (which sadly is more often than not lately). He's an impressive prospect for sure. Just trying to see things through the coaches' eyes though. I think Udoka cares a lot more about the process than about individual results--maybe too much so.

Poor Cam. He checks into his River Oaks high rise after a month, now he gets sent back to the border to spend Xmas at a taqueria.
