I really despise these things Wish people would use real metrics that people actually compare players with, not arbitrary combinations of thresholds.
There’s nothing to despise. Well if someone didn’t think highly of Chet to begin with well they’ll despise it it goes along with the very impressive rookie campaign he’s currently having. That’s all that matters.
I think very highly of Chet, he's having a great rookie season. I just don't like these "no player under age 20, 5 months, and 11 days has averaged 19 points and 4 assists while fouling less than 3 times and having a plus/minus over 6..." You can make any player look good with these things. At least use win shares or RAPTOR or whatever so it's an honest comparison.
Ok go let him know he’s not allowed to do this to go along with the obvious great season he’s having. Hes doing it all wrong btw the claim you can make any player good look with these things is false and extremely Dramatic. Does it say under age 20 blah blah. Nah it clearly says rookie.
Chet is having an amazing season, I haven't seen anyone this good out of the gate in recent memory. It's such a shame Wemby got all the hype and spotlight cuz Chet is the one who is playing like a generational talent. 65% TS is usually reserved for dunkers and layupers, the fact that Chet is scoring at this rate all over the court is insane not to mention his rebs and defense. Health is really the only thing keeping Chet back. If he is healthy OKc managed to get two generational players already and they haven't even touched their bajillion frps yet.
I do not think despicable is the word you are seeking because rookies are normally not really shooting well.....that is why..... Rookies have their worst shooting in their career in their first year.......Chet might be the exception to the rule.
Alperen Sengun is 2 months younger… (Crazy to think about a Chet/Alperen frontline, in OKC or Houston)
The question with Chet was never about his talent. He has it. The questions have always been will he break? And he did. He's only played in 26% of the games he could have. So far, that's not looking too good.
Unless it is an injury you cannot come back from, he will be fine, I doubt his game is relying on athleticism or running fast. If he had only athleticism and no skills, he would not even be in the conversation.
One of the very few players that has played every single game on their own team this year. Chet is steadily running away with ROY
Would have been the damn 86 Celtics. Silas would have mucked it all up, but imagine If we had drafted Scottie Barnes. 3. Barnes 4. Chet 5. Alperen
For certain. Chet would look good with Antman, Chet would look good with Morant, Chet would good with Haliburton, Maxey and Tatum.... He would look good with a lot of guys in the league today.
Pretty soon they'll be saying "(such and such player) is the first player in history under 24 that has ever scored 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while having his favorite color be blue AND owning a Pomeranian. This is just amazing!"
Don't really care about pairings that don't involve Rockets players. Certainly he would look great in many pairings, but I was just imagining what it would be like with Sengun.
Well, I am interested in all NBA and that would mean opponents that the Rockets have to deal with for years to come if they were in the same Division or Conference. I might add that Alex Sarr the future prospect might be a Chet light as well.....
