For sure. I wish Stone would attempt more, that was the gist of it all.

This is not the easiest of dances. There’s a difference in contentment, frustration and desperation. Sometimes all 3 are easily confused. It’s easy to assume that no move is incompetence when sometimes there are no moves to be made. None that would benefit your team.

We’ve all enjoyed seeing competitive basketball again. We (fans) seem to be the ones who are panicking. We’re still one of, if not the, youngest teams in the league. I go back to the beginning of season where this forum had said the playin would be a reach.

All of this to simply say, don’t make a move just to make a move. Stone inevitably will be the one faced with that decision.

Just don't act like a happy camper all the time like you are just riding along instead of being the major decision maker and give us those interviews.

He is a frustrating professional, I would not want to work for or with him at all.

I have said times again that either you hire a young GM or a GM that has worked as GM somewhere else before this job. He is neither.

Either you do a trade or do a better job selling us than just say oh trust in Ime like he is a fan.

I thought he'd learned from Morey and just said, "We are constantly trying to make the team better."

I don’t have any issues with what Stone said. We aren’t a contender this year, our young guys are still learning. We are still waiting to see what our young players will eventually become. Our free agent signings from this past offseason have elevated this team to basically a .500 team. Now we have to see if the development of our young players takes us towards being a contender.

Amen and Cam haven’t even made a contribution yet, so it may take a year or two to sort all this out. This isn’t our year to contend and Stone seems to understand that and is okay with that.

Stone has followed his game plan to a tee. His only major mistake was Silas and he has corrected that. I would like him to start tweaking the lineup with reasonable moves. A backup center and Brogdon to start and let Jalen,, Amen, Tari lead the bench unit would be the moves I would like to see. The Nets 24 pick should be enough for Portland who is tanking. I’d imagine we can get a more serviceable backup at least by the deadline. Neither trade would be “going against the plan”.

Udoka, staff, and management believes this is the best way to play given the roster which includes a big that can pass, drive, and post. They are using FVV as the primary PNR ball handler similar to Jamal Murray and possibly is trying to replicate how DEN plays. But Murray is better at getting into the paint and finishing than Fred and a better jump shooter.

Perhaps those first 2 years with Green were wasted as Rockets were determined to proceed with the KPJ experiment instead of letting Green be the primary playmaker and ball handler. Did Silas try to make Jalen a primary ball handler in practice at some point but didn’t think this fit his skillset best? We will never know. This current iteration with FVV may be an experiment itself. What’s obvious is this offense ain’t it.

Is that why Ime chose us over every other nba team? It would seem all the young talent Stone evaluated is what brought him here

@Downtown Sniper never posts anything of substance. All he ever does is farm hate-likes by posting negative crap. I've don't think I've ever seen him post anything interesting, like break down his arguments with statistical evidence. There's a reason why he's most active after losses. Pretty sad, really.

Never pay attention to what an NBA GM says in these situations.

The fan side of me wants the Rockets to make a big swing-for-the-fences trade, but the rational side of me believes this team is one season of seasoning away from that move.

I always thought that the standard for success this year should be at least 40 wins with all the money spent on free agency. Any GM worth his salt should be able to assemble a roster that could put together 40 wins with all the cap space he had available. If we win 40 games and still somehow miss the play-in/playoffs, this season will still be successful IMO. But if we don't reach 40 wins, we need to get another GM because it means that neither Sengun, Jabari, or Green improved to lead this team to playing winning basketball.

My main gripe with Stone is that we tanked for 3 years and it's a real possibility that we may not have acquired a superstar with those high draft picks. I don't include Sengun, Cam, or Tari when I say "high draft picks" because we didn't need to tank to pick them where they were drafted. Stunted Growth is probably writing the Jalen Green episode as we speak, but there's still hope for Jabari and Amen. I just hope we aren't having the same conversation about Jabari next year or Amen two years from now. Last year Stone hid behind Silas and let him take all the heat for that trash roster he put together. Now the attention needs to be on the players and the GM that acquired those players.
