I knew this was a loss by the first few possessions, 1-and done shots, no team play, just lazy and maybe that winning streak got to their heads. We look way too comfortable, just going about our business as if we're hot ****. This is not just a losing streak against bad teams, the foundation is showing some cracks and we shouldn't have to rely on Tari to bring that energy.

Last year we made a statement against this team, Tari in particular, but this year we completely **** the bed. I don't care if it was close, this was a bad, bad game. Jabari withstanding who was outstanding for the most part. I will save my usual observations and frustrations about Green in particular, because it was the whole team that didn't put in the effort.

We turned it on for a bit, but inexcusable. It doesn't help we no home court advantage, Tate has not looked like a good basketball player lately and when you have Amen, Holiday and Green on the floor, Green still asks to handle the ball, then you know something is wrong here. I give Ime credit, but his handling of Green needs some fine tuning to say the least. I thought he was going to be off-the-ball or is the early simplistic offensive sets not tailor made to have some screen sets for a shooter?

I don't even know what you're talking about - what goal post? What sport is this?

Someone - I think @YOLO in his dour and generally humorless (though amusing)omniscient narrative style - said that Jabari Smith Junior (who I like), was, I guessed based on last night's performance, a future star in waiting - improbably citing Klay Thompson and "elite shooting" for a guy who is nothing like Klay and an average shooter so far.

For reasons stated, I don't think that's true, that's not to say he's not a good player eventually but some of you guys are pretending like it's 1997 and scoring 20 ppg is something that gets you noticed in the NBA.

IMO being a try hard guy who can't really create, but can finish, in the proper context, in workmanlike fashion is generally not enough in today's NBA to qualify as a celestial body or make an all star team unless you're DPOY caliber on the other side of it.

No goal post, no movement. I

Obviously some folks disagree, it's fine I hope im wrong and you can all have a big laugh at my expense in February.

Of course, in the far more likely event that I'm right and they're incorrect - they'll probably forget about it and move on to the flavour du jour, which is totally fine by me.

Yeah Markanen is the only recent one. A real oddball player (late bloomer who turned into a prolific scorer)

Siakam is actually a decent creator and passer. Smith is still non-existent in that area by contrast

Bam Adebayo is a DPOY caliber big at the most valuable defensive position and an elite high post passer, he is not remotely like Jabari Smith Jr. on the court.

His scoring as a second year (or any year) player has zero predictive value for Jabari Smith Jr. They have completely different styles.

I know you love your Auburn guy, but come on, not everything is an insult that must be avenged

@SamFisher is the same guy who advocated trading for sorry players like John Collins by giving up legitimate assets and players. Oh and trading for a fat slob like Zion. So his evaluation of player outlook is pretty clouded. Claims of him be more likely right well doesn’t exactly hold merit

yeah I cited klay as being a two way star. He doesn’t have to actually be klay to become a star. You clearly don’t understand the difference. Makes sense coming from Mr. John Collins

Please post a link to the exact post with the assets I suggested for this.

Anyway John Collins is averaging 14-8 on 48-40 shooting. That seems useful to me! I wouldn't be surprised if some contending team takes a chance, since his contract is now no big deal in a universe where Jock Landale gets $8 million to do nothing.

Remember you're the same guy who said that Jabari Smith Jr has 'elite shooting " - I don't know what that makes Collins by your standards, interplanetary shooter? Galactic shooter?

Anyway I'm sorry this post made you upset. I wish nothing but the best for you, your family, Jabari Smiths Junior and Senior, John Collins, Colin Pine, and Colin Powell.

I'll be very happy when you bump this thread when Jabari Smith Jr makes the all star team. Please bookmark it so we can celebrate together. :)

Your campaign for John colllins is all over this thread. Funny how you just happen to forget

    https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/potential-trade-for-john-collins.318521/

Lol his contract is no big deal. That’s why atl had so much trouble for years dumping him. And now Utah wants to get rid of his sorry ass but he stinks. And you even tried to applaud Utah in that thread lol.

yup Jabari is an elite shooter. Showed it in hs. College. And now transitioning to the nba when he should still be in college. You don’t just forget how to shoot. But someone who has no idea who he was prior to putting on a rockets uni, well you would be lost

Bad game, they’ll shake it off. Team still needs to invest in a starting 2 guard and a SERVICEABLE backup big.

    Ime not without blame also.

I didn't ask for the thread- I remember the thread.

I asked for "the exact post"

What are the legimate assets I suggested?

Please post what they are - players? Which ones? Which draft picks?

Then we can measure it against his performance this year and see if it's outlandish, ex post, or reasonable.

Thanks in advance for the quote! :)

In that thread you spammed it isn’t hard to find. It’s all over there. You did your own impression of DD by posting all day in it

    LOL

Haha I accept your surrender- you can't find **** because I'm just saying that the Rockets youth movement looked like **** (true!) and that they needed to add unglamorous veterans like John Collins - and a bunch of clowns piled on.

Fast forward a few months and adding unflashy veterans at high prices is exactly what the Rockets did rather than listening to doofuses like this

    Haha

Anyway link to the exact players or assets when you get a chance - I'm heading to the beach in a bit but will be back later

It isn’t my job to sift through your spam for sorry ass
    John Collins

you quoted something that was spot on lol. Funny the Utah jazz went after John Collins thinking they would make him better. Instead they’re now one of the worst teams in the league. LOL at the instant remorse. You would be the equivalent of the jazz. Yeah you got clowned for the right reasons bc you campaigned for someone who sucks and doesn’t impact winning while wanting to give up assets to get him.

Who’s the next loser you’re going to tell cf’s to acquire

We're going to have to go back to the drawing board on defense. Giving up 130 points a game during the 3 game skid aint gonna cut it.

This was a bad loss, no way around it. The Hawks aren't a good basketball team. I hope Ime is ripping them a new one after the third straight game where the defense no-showed. That start to the 4th was downright embarrassing, like AAU level ****.

Props to Jabari for having a good game. I really like his potential.

I said it before. Jabari is the only player we have that can get his shot off anywhere on the court, inside and outside.

He rebounds, plays defense and beginning to penatrate , the only thing he needs to do is gain weight and experience.

That's why I was so dumbfounded as to why Ime didn't let him take the last shot against Cleveland in regulation.

    all 3 were his fault.

The first play was just laziness imo. completely flat footed and no where close.

On the 2nd play, that was jabaris rotation, sengun has to stick with the roller and again got punished.

On the 3rd play he just got beat.

Mavs will drop 150 on us if we show up the way we did against Hawks/Cavs.

You are making statements as if they are cemented - Bari is a young player and he does what he is asked.

He showed his improvement in plenty of areas during summer league (specially in creating for himself)

His driving ability and finishing ability have improved along with his rebounding - he’s not asked to be a creator in this offense … at most he will get the ball in post or mid post and only need make 2-3 dribbles before going up for his shot.

We don’t need him to be a tall Kyrie or have handles like KD …

We need him to continue improving on what he’s good at and with more shot attempts he can easily be 25/10 guy with great efficiently

The Klay comp isn’t that far off, put Bari on court with Steph and his 3pt % will go up because of how open his looks would be.
