We have exceeded expectations, so imagine replacing a struggling Jalen with a 2 that isnt struggling?
Its not hard to imagine that we would be exceeding expectations even more still.

I am on the fence to whether this year is the time to act or not, but winning is addictive.
Now in Houston, finally, we got a taste of it again and folks want more of it.

Despite how it pisses me off when he makes dumb mistakes during games, I still think he might be able to turn it around but giving him a Wiggins rookie max extension to gamble whether that happens or not, it will likely be a big mistake.

I just don't think this team as constructed can hang with the big boys until we have two established stars or one all-nba player. All these road games where we don't get any respect from the refs because we don't have any superstars is really hurting us.

You exceed expectations but it's not as simple as plugging in someone and that person comes in firing on all cylinders along with everyone else. It changes the dynamic of everything period

Especially if you're talking about win now as in win now a ring. folks need to be realistic rather than delusional.

Win now is something that people might define differently.

Win now to me means we get to the 2nd round of the playoffs and look good in doing so.
I dont think this team is getting a ring nor would be in contention for one in 2023/24 no matter who we replaced Green with.

As disappointed as I am, now is not the time to give up. He can get there but there is a lot of work to do…

and being realistic means getting into a play in spot before any talks of 2nd round, let alone 1st round.

Out - he is needing so many fundamentals - his development will take years and he may never get there, time to trade him now.

I think the problem is that Udoka doesn't see him in his future plans.

Pulgging someone like a Buddy Hield in the starting lineup in place of Green would work wonders.

What would even be the purpose of that? I don't understand why people suggest players on the wrong side of 30. We're not going anywhere this season except maybe the first round (if we're very lucky).

That seems to have worked out well for all 3 of the teams he's been on. losing records every year nice.

Unless you can replace him with significant upgrade at his position, I don't see how dumping him will win a whole lot more games than now. There don't seem to be any realistic trade scenario that can significantly upgrade the SG position. (Some people mentioned about Mitchell. That's just wishful thinking.)

We are already winning more games than most people expected. If Green is really hurting our chances of winning, we will see his minutes shrinking. Udoka is not Silas. I think a lot of "trade him" sentiment is just emotional reaction to the disappointment of seeing him not meeting expectations. If you calm down and think rationally, trading him just for the sake of not wanting to see him in Rockets uniform is not a very smart idea.

Quit standing on people Jim; regardless of where it is.

regarding Jalen Green - I’m disappointed in his offensive game; pleasantly surprised with his team defense; confused by his lack of strategy in attacking the opposition.

My "win now" model includes upgrading at the 2 and getting a more helpful backup C.

If we dont do either of those things, then the play-in is about what I expect.

Green needs to focus on repetitive motion. Whether how high and straight he jumps on his jumpshot or just in how he attacks and finishes at the rim. Lack of consistency and ability to simplify is too much to overcome.

If they did those things it would be the same outlook. The play in conversation was always the best case scenario this year

If we trade for better 2 and get a better backup and still only make the play-in, then we signed the wrong players.
