New York State AG Leticia James has filed a civil fraud lawsuit against Trump

Wait, are there actual people who believe the actual charges against Trump in this NY civil case are legitimate?

Trump estimated the value of his real estate. So did the bank -- a sophisticated counterparty. Trump paid back 100% of the loan, with interest.

The State's lead witness (M Cohen) said Trump did nothing illegal. The bank said Trump did nothing illegal.

Who was damaged? No one. What crime was committed? None.

All the while, you had Letitia James literally campaigning on bringing charges against Trump -- charges that she hadn't even investigated or formed yet. And the judge, his wife, and his lead clerk all have a history of extremely partisan behavior and donations.

The case should have been dismissed long ago -- it's a total sham and nothing more than a political weapon.

It's actually amazing that for as much as the state of NY investigated Trump, this is all they could come up with. Dude must be squeaky clean.

 

Curious, you do know that trump was already found liable for fraud and this latest trial was just to determine how much in disgorgement, or ill-gotten gains, Trump will need to pay based on the judge’s earlier ruling that the financial statements were fraudulent?

 

You do know that there is a second trial in NY for trump where is is charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records over hush money paid to Stormy Daniels?

This trial is one of a number of trials trump faces next year: the Georgia trial (where he is charged among others of trying to overturn the election), a separate federal trial for trying to overturn the election, separate charges for mishandling classified materials, and the Jean Carroll damages trial.

 

Do you think any of these cases would be brought if Trump were not running for President? Most people do not, which is why Trump's polling numbers continue to rise. People are smart enough to see through what's happening here. The sheer volume of these cases does not prove guilt, as you foolishly suggest, but rather proves how the cases are a coordinated effort to inflict political pain. You'd have to be pretty naive to believe that these cases were not brought to advance political objectives. None of them have merit. None.

The liberals figured out that with a liberal judge and a pool of liberal jurors, they can indict any political opponent on literally anything they make up. And what's shocking is how willing the Democrats are to trash and abuse our once honored legal system... to trade away the integrity of those institutions for short term political gain... which hilariously appears to be backfiring since Trump's numbers are rising.

If trump hadn't violated numerous laws, such as committing fraud, incited an insurrection, tried to overturn the election, mishandle classified materials, broke campaign laws by not reporting hush money used to pay a woman he had an affair with, and didn't sexually assault a woman then he wouldn't have all these trials. trump was at the immunity trial Monday and Tuesday (btw, he wasn't required to be... he chose to appear there). He is doing a fox news town hall today. He is appearing at two campaign events in Iowa Saturday, and another on Sunday. Again, to lie and use his mother-in-law's death as an excuse for not making a closing statement (which in all honesty, no one expected him to do so, especially after the judge placed limits on what he could say)... trump is simply despicable. As are his supporters that enable him...
