New York State AG Leticia James has filed a civil fraud lawsuit against Trump

It’s both that he’s a genius at marketing and that we’re at a time of intense ideological tribalism. On top of that social media has made it both more possible to exist in information bubbles while also getting a steady stream of outrage.

Anger, grievance and sticking it to the other side are far more important than understanding or even capability as a leader. Trump absolutely understands this and it’s also why we see people like Vivek Ramaswamy gain prominence. What they say and propose might not make any sense and be impossible to implement but what matters to so many is that they are expressing anger and “owning their opponents”.

He charges $1,350/hour. Which is steep but not completely out of bounds, I don't think. At that rate, that's 81 days of full-time hours. But, he probably has a staff, and junior members of his staff are billed at lower rates. So maybe he's got a senior guy billing $1,000/hour and a junior analyst billing at $600/hour. So more than 81 days in man-hours. I mean,yeah it's a big bill, but there's more work going into it than the half-day he spends testifiying in court.
