Rumor has it the Rockets were looking to trade Sengun this past off season but do we know for who and how much? I think if they would've signed Lopez, the deal would've been completed. But do we know for who?
The Rockets were not going to dump or just trade Sengun if they got Brook Lopez. What was likely though was that he was the eventual trade candidate, if a deal for a star surfaced. He would have had every opportunity to play behind/with Lopez or earn the starting spot this season. If the Zion talks had gotten serious around the draft, Sengun would have been in that trade, for example. I talked about this a lot.
Half the team was dangled, most likely KPJ but guy got not much trade value due to his combustible nature.....
How do we know it was Zion? What if it was for Jaylen Brown? I just can't see Boston paying $300M each for both Brown and Tatum. Something is going to give there at some point. Plus I think if we could have swung that trade, Lopez would have signed here. C- Lopez F- Jabari F- Brown G- Green G- FVV/ Thompson and Holiday Now the kicker would have been, were they counting on KPJ to be the PG then? And since they would have had only enough money for Brown and Lopez would they have still signed FVV?
Oh-no's Shin-Gin was on the trading block. Shin-gin makes $3 mil per. Zion is $34 mil. If you're Dave Griffin, who else would you have asked to make up $30 mil of salary. Even if kpj was on the table, more players would have been needed.
you want to be the guy who finds Sin Ghin, not the guy who signs him to a 100 million dollar contract
Captivating thread title. Incredibly vague, not very pertinent to current goings on, sense of gravitas. 4/5, would read again.
I'm assuming that entails all the Brooklyn picks and swaps then. Wow that would have been terrible. I honestly wouldn't trade Sengun straight up for Zion
