Why does he need to go? He's a talented offensive player getting real coaching for the first time who at worst would be a fantastic scoring punch off the bench next to a real PG on a rookie contract. We gonna trade him for what? Did he beat his GF or something?

I'm yet to see a realistic trade scenario for him on here

This trade ideas are as bonkers as saying this is his first real coach......lol......when he is 25....oh this is only his first real team....we evaluate him when he is 27......

Then half his career he is going to be an Excuse for himself.

The “he finally has a real coach!!!” excuse is so tired already.

He still takes horrible shots. He still doesn’t finish at the rim. He still can’t shoot 40% from the field on any sort of consistent basis. These things have nothing to do with coaching. He has to show improvement or adjustments need to be made.

"We NeEd To MoVe JaLeN GrEeN"

    "Ok for what?"

    "................"

At best you have the dimwits that think we'd be better with him simply off the team like he's KPj or Jordan Poole. There isn't a player out there we could realistically get that'd be better than Jalen Green.

Yes, it's a small sample. But again, it was also his best spot from the midrange last season. I just doubt he will take well to being told not to take any midrange shots at all, and I'm not necessarily convinced that's even the best strategy for a player's overall production--there are game theory elements at play if other players know you're never going to shoot from the midrange. Makes more sense to tell him to stop shooting from his bad spots.

Rome wasn't built in a day and he has shown improvement. It's not like there's an urgency to get rid of him. We can wait and as always if there's a an opportunity to improve our team via trade then trading green can b discussed.

Panicking and trading green for nothing is just stupid. Folks acting like green is causing us to lose games. We are performing above expectations with this new team and currently on a win streak.

I trust ime if he thinks he's can work with green then just wait and see.

Exactly. It's mindless speculation with no substance. Of course if we could get Booker or Young then we have a conversation but that isn't happening and that's what we'd need to get back

Not trading Green for Young tbh. Booker is a different story but I'm totally out on that whole Harden/Lillard/Mitchell/Young/Doncic no defense all offense archetype. Green could end up being the same but he's not a lost cause like they are.

Young doesn't play defense but I'd do that deal. Trey will obviously never play defense but as a shooter, playmaker and ball handler he's really good. Booker would be perfect here. I think Sengun and him could play a good two man game. We likely aren't getting either. I'd take Lillard over Green too. Obviously Doncic. Agree on Mitchell and Harden. No thanks.

If had to describe Jalen as a rocket, I would say he is stuck on the launchpad.
    No lift off.
His engines are misfiring, starting and stopping.
At the same time, he hasnt fallen off the launchpad nor has he exploded.

Like the gif, its not clear what he is going to do.

Exactly! Green has gotten better every season and at this rate of improvement in 6 or 7 years he'll be a starting caliber SG, we just need to be patient. Sure he's not a top 8 player on the roster now, but a decade from now, maybe he will be!

Also, as long as we keep benching him at the end of games, the Rockets still have a chance to win some games, we just need to keep him in the starting lineup so that he keeps up his stellar improvement.

The fact that they're not closing out games with him is telling. I think Jalen knows that his shortcomings are wearing thin on his coach, I just really hope he can learn from it and adapt. The thing is though, it's not from a lack of trying. Jalen isn't a knucklehead, he's not a bad dude, he's just inconsistent as hell and not particularly efficient or reliable. I'm sure he'd like to be. Time will tell, but the clock is definitely ticking.

he’s a starter playing the 6th man role

if he’s okay with that, he’ll be fine and still has room and time for growth

Yeah that Trae Young/Murray backcourt looks threatening as hell. Why would Atlanta blow that up?

It’s not working, but if decide to break it up ATL will get a lot more than Jalen Green

I mean, maybe if the Hawks give up on the season and the Rockets send enough picks, maybe they could get a deal done using Green to help Atlanta tank the rest of the season along with an expiring deal like Oladipo to make the money work.

But outside of a blow it up and tank scenario, for sure, they'd look to get more.
