Before we try to trade Jalen, I would like to see Cam Whitmore get a shot.
Why give up assets in a trade when possibly the guy we need, we already have?

I'm new but it doesn't seem like he's trolling unless I don't know the history. He posts thought out responses. The Dakota guy seems like a troll.

Sounds like this might be coming from a place of emotional problems rather than basketball analysis, I'm not really the person to turn to for that kind of help.

I'm serious about that BTW, it really does sound like you are transferring emotions towards him that stem from something else. It's far too strong an emotional response for just a random basketball player.

I'm not sure he'll ever return to the NBA given what he did off the court, but that's not really relevant to a conversation about basketball.

Emotional problems? No my friend I just have a daughter so people like KPJ don't appeal to me. I won't get into insults over the internet.

It actually does matter. What he does off the court effects his availability on the court.

Okay, that's similar to what I was thinking, I wasn't insulting you, I was just pointing out that this was emotional for you, not rational.

You have a daughter and so you are triggered by what he did and you can't work past those emotions to discuss basketball.

    That's just where we are.

Where I'm at is that he did something wrong and is being punished justly for it. After he pays for what he does then it's about what he can do on a basketball court.

I mean, what DeShawn Watson did was 100 times worse than what KPJ did and he's still playing.... and both Calvin Murphy and Gerald Green did pretty much the exact same thing and they are still on the broadcast....

I'm just not big on selective outrage.

Fair enough. I'm not triggered by anything. I just don't have much tolerance for people like KPJ.

On Deshaun he's garbage as well. Thankfully he asked out of here and now he's Cleveland's problem. To be honest I don't care who is worse
I didn't know anything about what Gerald Green did before you mentioned it. Murphy is a trash person.

At this point, he just needs to go. Addition by subtraction. If you can get a first round pick for him, do it. Doesn't even need to be lotto, cut your losses with him. You did with Gup and the other first rounders, what's the difference other than Jalen being drafted higher?

A damn shame we wasted the 2nd pick in the draft.

Green is an AAU player. He preferred playing for Silas and being able to do what he wants. Things are tough now with Ime and he hasn’t been able to figure it out. Just need to whip the AAU out of him

He finishes at a 70% rate at the rim. its the mid range where he sucks the air out of the building.

    0-3 feet .705
    3-10 feet .323
    10-16 feet .316
    16-24 feet .410
    3 point distance - .323

For those looking at that .410 in no man's land, spare me - those shots are frowned upon by damn near every team in the league and their blind dog. No, he doesn't need to take more of those.

He played the same way in High School and with Ignite so you have to whip a lot more than Silas out of him....

Decades of youth ball. He might get to being a functional NBA scorer but what is the cost.....

He shot like 36% in the G League so I am not really convinced he was a shooter to begin with. Like none.

Just absurd to me that some people are constantly applauding him for his mid range game. I'm one of his biggest fans, I've never liked his mid range game, I've never understood why he's taking that shot when there are two higher priority shots that he needs to develop and take (3pters and finishing at the rim).

A guy who's TS% is this low certainly should cut out his least efficient shot. I think it would also help simplify scoring for him too, he just has 3 options: attack the rim, 3pter or pass the ball. No more million options in the mid range only to get a mediocre shot.

    FTA's need to stay up.

He'll get there. It's too bad his progress has not caught up with the team but it will in around 10 games.

There is no cost. We're better than expected and we have yet to sign him to an extension. Let's see how he finishes the season if he's not part of a trade package

I'm sorry guys but Jalen is struggling way too much and seems to be less skilled now than when he came into the league. We are on year 3. It's time to take the rose colored glasses off and see him for what he is.

What's that? He's been extremely inconsistent. He's the same player as he came into the league which is a problem. What are we supposed to do with him? 6th man probably works. If you want to trade him then tell me a realistic scenario

According to his shot chart he's actually knocking 'em down in the midrange at the top of the key. Enough to be reasonably efficient. Ime and Ben need to tell him to cut all the other midrange shots out of his game and just focus on what works. For what it's worth, that was also his best midrange spot last season (although the efficiency was a bit lower).

    That's a terribly small sample size - 15 shots.

Those shots are typically frowned upon in today's NBA. That 16-23 foot range is no mans land.

Just because he is shooting better there than elsewhere doesn't really mean you want him taking more of those shots - it's not like he's shooting the lights out from there.

What would really help him is finding a shot that works in that area between the restricted circle and the free throw line. He can get that shot just about any time he wants - instead of trying to take on defenders at the rim, a pull up jumper or a floater should be easy shots for him.
