lol, just as I was talking about clutch only fans who can’t associate anything negative with clutch, here is a primary example. You guys are something. Last two years it was Silas, who couldn’t be doing wrong because he had a problem with Sengun. I guess it is clutch’s turn now. The funny thing is both Silas and clutch have been pretty much open about how they feel about Sengun. You don’t need to make a deep analysis.
If you read his posts or listened to him speak you would know that he's not a Sengun guy. He's been pretty clear on it. And that's perfectly fine, everyone's allowed to have their opinions on all our players.
Regarding @Clutch: Dave has kindly allowed me to be on here for about 25 years. I got banned before, but he let me in again and I respect what he has built in terms of community - I actually looked at some other NBA team fan fora, and they aren't close to being as impressive as Clutchfans. @Clutch and I have surely not agreed on everything all the time. Clearly, we have very different opinions regarding the value of Sengun for the Rockets. I am also sad about some of the bans that have happened to some of the valued long-standing members of our community (like @King1, @Yung-T, @J.R. (??????)) and I hope @Clutch will eventually consider letting them back in - but I am not privy to all the information on what happened, so I have no right to judge or publicly complain. Ultimately, it is pretty simple - @Clutch runs this place, so he makes the rules. Doesn't mean he is right about everything, but he has tolerated disagreement if people aren't disrespectful about it, as far as I can see. It's pretty clear he doesn't think as highly of Sengun as many, including myself, but so be it.
I thought the multiple question marks were more emphatic. Either way, that’s weird. JR shouldn’t be banned
Wonder what the Rockets record would be If they were starting Bruno Fernando, or If they paid big money to Mo Bamba. Think we could throw Bruno or Mo the ball in the post against Kawhi or Lebron in crunch time?
I think its speculation. He hasnt posted in 8 days or something. I think he is just taking a vacation. Thats my speculation.
Not being fan of a dude is one thing but throwing him to the wolves is another thing especially when we are winning like that s.hit's the crazy part and he's doing that to arguably our best player (even if he doesn't think he is the best fanbase consider him the best). "Look familiar?" is the caption he used for his quote tweet and he has 80k followers. I'm looking at his tweets right now and not seeing any criticism directed towards Jalen after Spurs or Grizzlies game. He was even worse than Sengun. Also i have never ever seen him single out Jabari after a loss like yesterday he did to Sengun. Literally i have never seen it. Jabari gets a pass because why? He's sharing a similar game with some of great players played in the league soooo i can go easy on him despite him having a bad game because he's destined to be as great as them? Interesting if that's how he justifies his silence. Sengun's defensive shortcomings may annoy you, you might want your center to be at least 7ft i respect that but it's 100% a foul move going after a kid who clearly took a leap defensively this season and more importantly we are winning with him. We turned into a team that doesn't collapse in the 4th quarter. So we asked him to improve on defensive end he did, we had concerns of him ever developing into a winning player we are winning with him but nah he can't have 2 back to back bad games and if he does i'm going to treat him like he never improved on defense from his rookie year because my hatred takes over me? To silence the doubters he had to be as good as Dwight Howard in just couple of months and it's on him.
There is a certain best player on a previous Rockets team (not any of the current Rockets) that I throw under the bus sometimes. Not saying its right. Not saying most do it. But some do. And for me, what I say reflects how I truly feel about him, right or wrong. I think at the end of the day though, I would rather hear what someone really feels, even when I strongly disagree with it, than some premeditated response that suits most everyone and gets your like total to go up..
I was too lazy to go over things, but this is pretty much it. And it is still okay, I said all the negative things in the world about KPJ, have pointed out his shortcomings much more than others etc. because I didn't like him and I didn't want such a player in the team I support. I don't root for assholes just because they happen to be part of my team. Though I find it a little hard to understand why someone wouldn't like Sengun(because in my case I could easily explain why I don't like KPJ), it is what it is. The problem is when you point these out, some posters act like you are just hallucinating, just like the way it happened with Silas.
Clutch is open about his dislike for sengun, and that is fine. But then comes 'Bruno over Sengun', 'Sengun is not a hard-worker' type of stuff he brought up. The first one was justified by extremely bad basketball arguments, and it showed a support for kpj over sengun, the second one is flat out wrong. And you can't really look at the oncourt Sengun and KPJ and think that KPJ is the hard working one. So it was more than just expressing your opinion and being open about it.
I don't really understand why you guys so sensitive about what Clutch thinks. I watched a couple of Clutch podcasts/interviews during the Silas era and Clutch has been very consistent that he doesn't think very high of Sengun. I never agree with his view, so what, everyone is entitled to their opinions. I watched every Rockets game this season and there were a few games Sengun was sleepwalking in the first quarter even he posted a good stats at the end - it has to be fixed if he wants to be an All-star. Sengun has been the best player in our team this season, and that's why people care about Sengun and have a higher standard on him comparing other players. Our offense sucks when he struggles. We know Green is only showing up one in seven or eight nights, and people get used to his inconsistency that's why nobody cares. However, you don't want Sengun to be treated like that.
Nobody is exempt from criticism i criticize Sengun too but i'm aware of that he's our best player so i criticize him accordingly. Kid has a legit shot at making the all star selection how are you gonna be on his ass and go easy on Jabari and Jalen when they play bad lmao where is the logic in that?
Something that is factually incorrect should be challenged and set strait. Opinions, on the other hand, you just have to let them go, unless they are ridicules. But thats the rub, isnt it?
I get what your saying. Comments like that attract responses. Often, I think its done on purpose. Sometimes for attention, sometimes because of the strength of the opinion of whom posted it. Regardless, we either respond or ignore it. But I will admit this, I get pulled into expressing options at times when afterword, I wish I could take back what I said. Not because it wasnt true, but because I shouldn't've have said it. I didnt want to deal with the pushback. Its really not a good idea to say something highly controversial unless your in the mood for a bit of friction or confrontation.
Clutch is not posting here, so I don't discuss with him, I don't care for him. He is a more well known figure whose opinions and actions we discuss. Of course we are going to say what we see about clutch, the team, players etc. that is normal. It is the bad posters that should be avoided while doing that. Unfortunately they are particularly attracted to the Sengun threads. and again unfortunately, we all fall into the trap of interacting with them. Then there is no way to carry on a reasonable discussion.
