The Republicans learned everything they need to know about how to operate moving forward from both Benghazi and then later in Trump's post election loss coup attempt. They fully as a party understand COMPLETELY that their electorate which is 38% of America and growing (if the polls are accurate) are mandating them to throw out the Constitution, and the rule of law AND TAKE POWER in an autocratic way. The truth, laws, and the constitution no longer matters. Only doing anything and everything to get power by any means necessary permanently. The way they are acting with this impeachment is very very similar to how Putin and Russian senior officials operate on nearly every issue. We shouldn’t ignore the polls and they are worrisome but I don’t think they fully reflect where the country is at. What is also telling is that even though Biden has horrible poll numbers Democrats have been winning many elections and in the issues have been winning the referendums. Remember going into the 2022 election there was talk of a red wave and that election deniers like Kari Lake would be winning governorships and Secretary of State offices. That didn’t happen and Republicans while Winning the House have the weakest majority in history. A majority that got even thinner after kicking out a serial liar and con artist. For those of us who care about things like Democracy and Constitutional norms we shouldn’t be complacent but I don’t think it’s as dark as poling and tweets make it seem to be.

I find it amusing how truth is considered so important in a world where facts are regularly ignored, while stories are clung to tightly until the truth is revealed (anytime now).
I'm genuinely confused. Democrats have consistently exceeded polling expectations since the start of Biden's presidency. The polls aren't necessarily 'wrong,' but there's a persistent discrepancy and an ongoing 'story.' Something seems to be missing. My uneducated guess is that as a whole, we are finally divorcing from reality at a significant high rate, and that's being reflected in today's polling. Because this is new, polling is not able to fully capture it properly... yet.
If Hunter Biden asked for a private hearing, they would've refused and said only a public hearing was acceptable. It has nothing to do with being afraid of it. They just want to be able to try and control the narrative.
Hunter is a leach. He didn't ask to be the son of a prominent politician, but he has certainly profited off of it. The only reason I don't call him a complete scum bag is because he suffered a bad head injury when his mother died in the crash and that can cause serious issues.
