I’m okay with benching young guys if they aren’t producing.

Let’s remember that Sengun has been transformed into the #1 option for the first time during the first quarter of the season. I think he is thriving, but at the same time I think he is getting tired and teams are adjusting how they play against him. There will be learning curves. It’s about being patient, and easing the pressures of the NBA game. He’ll be fine and continue to improve.

With Green, he is trying to find that fine line of being aggressive while staying patient. He’s keeping his defensive intensity, but of course he is going to struggle at times; which we’ve all seen. Similar with Sengun, Green is starting to feel the tolls of the NBA on his body; especially when trying to win and outmaneuver the opponent can tire both body and mind. As he gets more comportable with the new role, I am fairly certain he will inject his athleticism positively to the team. He’s a guy who will eventually average 25-30 points a game, but he’s got to stay under control, while not checking out offensively because he misses a few shots.

Yeah, we won but your #2 pick underperforming in year 3 is a huge deal. We aren't going to win the championship this year, but how far do you think Jalen Green can take us on that journey? This year is all about finding out whether we have superstar(s) amongst our young core. If Stone didn't hit on those picks it sets the franchise back.

 

I hope you're right and I'm wrong but Jalen hasn't show anything you mentioned. Ime has confirmed all he's shown is when he's scoring/happy his effort/defense/professionalism is there. When he's missing/sad his entire games suffers. That's straight from the coaches mouth.

 

I suspect this season was to find out who was to stick around long term than finding a superstar.....(what are the chances)

• Sengün seems to be a lock at being a perennial All Star but the journey to being one goes thru being a secondary option on a contender.....
• (Still a 3 point shot and midrange flamingo away from totally unlocking his Offense)
• And a legit All Star has to be acquired soon to mesh with the younger role players.

In the end Holiday, Jeff Green, Tari Eason putting up numbers are just means to advertise for a better player to join them, that the team could attract legit star players in their prime again.....
