That's D. Nix-level dominant right there! Seriously, though, looks impressive. Did Green ever had 40 for Ignite?
I think we will see Cam + Amen vs the Spurs. It is gonna be an easy game for us, and they will come up destroying the Spurs bench.
Cam and Amen looked meh to questionable in most of his stint in the previous game against this same Birmingham team which was just yesterday and RGV lost. Amen's passing looked great, but his shot was so-so. Cam just looked bad in spots, making crazy plays, leaving his teammates for dead (lol). In this game, Cam goes superhuman. Amen must be the problem. I just finished watching the December 8th game. Will probably watch this one tomorrow.
Going to be tricky for Stone to see what he wants to do with Green knowing Cam is waiting in the wings. Not sure when we'd have to make a decision on Cam but I'm assuming it's going to dictate the extension offered to Green. His game and body is just tailor made for the modern NBA and for Sengun/Amen. Amen/Whitmore/Brooks/Jabari/Sengun is just such a ridiculously talented starting 5.
Maybe but clearly he also hasn't seen a shot he doesn't like lol. He can get what he wants vs GLeague scrubs but a lot of what he is doing here isn't gonna fly in the NBa like driving into 4 defenders and expecting to get fouled and score an and 1. That's a highlight in GLeague but a To in the NBa.
I don't think his readiness is the issue. I think the coaching staff is focusing on one rookie at a time to integrate to the team. I don't think it is a super judgment on his skills. Plus you can't play two rookies in the rotation while trying to win. Ime said he wanted to play in the playoffs this season!
This is the December 8th game that apparently nobody wanted to post highlights from (lol). Some Cam and Amen plays in the spoiler. Spoiler 1st quarter : 10:40 - Spinning pass from Amen on drive back out to Cam who drives, tries to play bullyball and gets his shot swatted taking it in on 3 defenders. Amen gets the ball back, gives it back to Cam who misses a 3 point shot with no time left on the shot clock. 10:17 - Cam gets the rebound and runs the court for a layup. 08:45 - Cam gets the pass on the break from Samuels and nails a 3. 08:20 - Amen a beautiful pass along the baseline to Nate Hinton cutting into the paint for a bucket. 08:00 - Amen pokes the ball away out of bounds on defense. 07:07 - Nothing big here, but Amen with a tough pass in the paint to Samuels who decides to pass it out. 06:53 - Cam out, Culver (G-League Player of the Week!) in 05:26 - Amen out 02:57 - Cam back in 2nd quarter : 12:00 - Amen back in, Cam still in 11:53 - Amen drives into the paint, passes off to Spalding who gets the ball knocked out of bounds by the defenders 11:47 - Amen drives, but either gets bumped or just fumbles the dribble before passing the ball out for a monumental airball by Spalding. Saw this fumbling a few times from Amen in his NBA games. 10:57 - Amen brings the ball up, drives, and does an awesome ball-fake to Spalding in order to get an easy layup. 10:20 - Amen drives the paint again, does another ball-fake and gets the layup. If you watch in the background Samuels lets out the most demonic yell for a layup ever witnessed. You can actually hear him above the "crowd". 09:46 - Amen operating off drives again, gets into the paint and dumps it off to Spalding who gets fouled on the layup. 09:19 - Cam gets the ball at the 3 pt. line, decides to drive strong to the basket, but fumbles the ball and turns it over. Just like Amen, I saw this a few times from Cam when he was with the Rockets. 08:55 - Amen to Mayer for a wide-open 3. 08:36 - Cam goes out, Amen still in. 08:30 - Amen bricks a pull-up 16 footer 07:31 - Cam back in, Amen still in. At this point, with Culver in the lineup, we have a #4 pick, a #20 pick, and a #6 pick in the lineup together. 07:24 - Cam jumps for a rebound with Amen over his back going for the same rebound. That's a lot of vertical on display. 07:24 - Cam brings the ball up the court, looks to pass, but decides to take a 22 footer that barely draws iron. 06:32 - Amen dribbles the length of the court and puts his dribble and layup package on display again with a bewildering layup nearly off the top of the backboard. 06:19 - With Birmingham streaking for a layup, Cam blocks the shot. 06:07 - Amen goes out, Cam still in. 05:40 - Cam gets the ball back from Samuels drives the paint and gets the and-1 layup, but misses the FT. 05:15 - Cam dribbling the ball above the 3 pt. line fumbles the dribble trying to get away from the defender, but maintains control. 04:57 - Cam tries to end the life of the opposing player by taking off outside the restricted area and dunking over him. No chance because the defender is set outside the area and Cam misses the attempt. But that attempt was nuts. 04:28 - Cam gets the rebound and thinks about flinging it the length of the court to a teammate, but decides not to. The problem now is he's picked up his dribble... oops. Luckily Samuels is open at mid-court who gets the ball and takes it in for a layup. 04:01 - Not sure if Cam could've done more to defend this layup, but seemed a bit matadorish. 03:16 - Amen back in, Cam still in 03:10 - Watch the end of this and Amen's pass. Dude looks away to pull the defender away from Samuels and fires a laser-beam pass sideways. Samuels, the recipient is fouled on the play. That's just silly. 03:00 - Amen with a (dangerous but) sick whip pass across the court and through defenders to Cam who airballs a 3. 02:51 - Amen gets the ball with under 2 seconds left on the shotclock and promptly destroys the backboard with a brick ... nay ... a boulder. I almost thought he needed his vision tested after this one. You can see he's frustrated afterwards by how much he missed that one. 02:25 - Amen drives into the paint collapsing the defense, passes the ball back out to Days who bricks a 3. 01:35 - Amen fires a laser beam pass on a dime that Nate Hinton can't handle because it looks like it went through him. 01:30 - Cam gets the ball and drives the length of the court for an attempted layup, but gets it blocked from behind. 00:45 - Cam tries to block a 7-footer (ok, he's really 6'10" or so) and gets posterized ... sort of ... 00:40 - Amen jukes/eurosteps his way into the paint, then decides to try and destroy the rim with one of his passes. Not sure what was going on here, because it looked like he had a layup, but it had me laughing at the sheer force of the impact/rebound of the ball. 00:15 - Amen, with time running out, decides to take the ball inside, but instead of, again, what looked like a layup, decides to pass the ball out to Cam at the 3 pt line. Bad pass. 3rd quarter : 12:00 - Amen in, Cam in to start the 3rd 11:20 - Cam airballs a 3 10:00 - Amen gets the ball, dribbles it in to about 16 feet and hits a jumper. 09:35 - Cam gets the ball and runs a break, but attempts a behind-the-back pass on the fly and turns the ball over. 09:00 - Amen pass to Samuels who drives it in and hits the short jumper. 08:55 - Corny tech on Amen. 08:43 - Amen gets the rebound and pushes the ball like he's pissed, passes the ball to Samuels (like the last play). Samuels misses the long jumper this time, but Amen rebounds the ball and lays it up for 2. 08:20 - Cam knocks the ball away from Jemison, Amen gets the ball and runs the break, spins, slips and falls, but manages to pass the ball to Cam while on his back who gets the layup. 07:19 - Amen receives the ball at the 3 pt. line, drives in the paint, spins in traffic, gets double-teamed and does a bounce pass sideways to Spalding who misses the layup. Damn nice pass in traffic. 07:05 - Cam receives a pass at halfcourt from Hinton and decides to take it all the way for the layup. 06:42 - Amen gets pressure bringing the ball up the court, so takes off. Watch the drill of a pass, again sideways, he does. It seems to be a thing. 06:05 - Amen misses a 3. 05:40 - Cam goes baseline for a layup. 05:26 - Cam and Trhae Mitchell deny the drive attempt. 05:21 - Samuels on the fast break passes to Amen for a layup. 04:21 - Amen out, Cam still in 01:42 - Cam out, Amen still out 4th quarter : 12:00 - Cam in, Amen still out to start the 4th 10:26 - Cam dribbles up the court and drives for a floating layup 10:03 - Amen back in, Cam still in 09:40 - Amen dumps the ball into Spalding, who bricks the shot. Looks like Amen actually fumbled the ball either trying to go behind his back or just dribbling causing him to pick up his dribble. 09:05 - Amen dribbles around the free throw line and bricks a jumper 08:40 - Cam attempts a 3 point shot, and misses it. Nate Hinton comes flying out to try and save the ball, but rins into Cam. Hinton goes down and Cam walks off. Kind of disappointed he didn't try to help his teammate up here. 08:25 - Beautiful pass by Hinton to Cam for a layup. 07:40 - Amen with another nice pass. This time to Hinton, but no bucket. 07:12 - Cam gets the ball and goes the length of the court, finds himself trapped in the paint and does his bull in a china shop routine, but misses the layup. 06:42 - Amen passes the ball to a cutting Cam who airballs a layup-hookshot-thingamajig. 06:27 - Amen drives and passes the ball to an open Trhae Mitchell for 3, but he bricks it. 06:10 - Amen dumps the ball down low to Cam who attempts a jump hook of sorts over a taller defender, but airballs the shot. I don't think his shot was blocked and don't think he was fouled on this one. 05:35 - Cam misses a 3 04:30 - Amen drives into the paint for a layup, misses it. Lots of contact - no call. Saw some of this from him in the NBA, too. 03:25 - No idea what Cam did or was doing here. The camera doesn't show it, but it looks like he sped the ball up the court, lost control and flung the ball out to a defender. Turnover. 02:53 - Amen bricks a 3. 02:29 - Amen steals the ball, passes it upcourt to Mitchell for an easy layup. 00:38 - Cam attemps a 28 foot 3 pointer and hits. 00:16 - Amen could've probably been blown for an 8-second violation bringing the ball up lazily on the last play, but it was very close and really didn't matter. I think in the NBA or summer league he was called for this once, too, wasn't he?
If you compare Cam at 19 to Jalen at 19 in the Gleague, Cam is a lot lot better. https://stats.gleague.nba.com/player/1630224/?Season=2020-21&SeasonType=Regular Season https://gleague.nba.com/player/1641715/cam-whitmore DD
Because i believe that Jalen experience needs to end and sooner it ends the better for us. Btw Cam dropped 42 pts about an hour ago. Kid is clearly too good for G-League. Just look at his shot good lord
There's a reason why Ime thinks Cam belongs in the G League. Basically you are saying you know more than Ime which is complete asinine based on your posting history.
LOL..... are we overachieving or not based off gambling lines? Spoiler..... we are overachieving. Cam can stay in the G League.... and it will be absolutely fine.
I very much doubt that there is a single poster on this site that knows more about the Rockets and their personal than Ime.
Bingo. I bet if we didn't have Amen, we would be giving some minutes to Cam. People have forgotten what it's like to be vying for the playoffs. You can't have too many young players and we have lots of them in our rotation already.
