maybe the karma of bruce bowen injuring brehs in the 2000s will come back and take wembys mama's name. it's only fair.
Shouldn't have laughed and celebrated when Rockets didn't get the 1st pick.... Bad karma for an unproven overhyped rookie...
lol well regardless I'm happy to see all the Wemby hypers taken down a peg. Last I heard Sarr is the new best prospect since Lebron James.
He can have a good career if he accepts his fate as a lob threat and a finisher around the basket but he is not the finesse player he thinks he is.
Explain how Chet is shooting 51%/29% from the field but his "efficiency" on "wide open" 2-point shots is only 25%. Victor's shooting percentages are 43%/25% but his "efficiency" on "wide open" 2-point shots is 80%. Seriously? What am I missing?
Can't remember which draft analyst was talking about this, maybe Vecenie, maybe somebody else, but I remember him saying how Wemby is going to make a massive impact on defense right away but don't expect him to come in and be great offensively out the gate. Looks like that was a good call. Kid is discovering how hard it is to score against NBA defenders. That said, a 20/20 game with 4 blocks as a rookie. Oh, my.
I guess that means Wemby shoots about 37% on non wide open shots. What's unbelievable is Chet's numbers. If he shoots only 25% on wide open shots, then he must be shooting 64% on non wide open shots. I call BS.
The Wemby hate here is funny, lol (even ignoring the data and calling it BS). His antics during the lottery really made people butthurt.
Please explain to us how it was calculated and not BS. Questioning that data has nothing to do with hate. It just doesn't seem to add up.
You can look this up on stats.nba.com. The numbers don't exactly align with what the tweet suggests - ultimately neither guy shoots very many "wide open" 2 point shots (chet has 3.4% of his 2PA classified this way) so their respective percentages isn't very relevant. Anyway chet plays on a better team, Wemby is still pretty good, i don't know what else we need to say at this stage that's going to add meaningfully to that finding
We don't need any stats to know that Chet plays on a better team and probably has an easier time getting his shots off. A lot of these numbers floating around social media are just artificial constructs to build narrative one way of the other.
Would you trade Amen Thompson for a Wemby or Chet to compliment Alp ? Or Amen for a Wemby / Chet, then flip Wemby / Chet for better pieces around Alp.
