Great time to get him re-integrated to the rotation with the easy opponents coming up and with FVV minutes needing to be reduced.
Thinking the same thing. Feels like one has to go, nobody will want FVV at that contract, Holiday is league minimum and Thompson hasn't even had a chance. This team is actually too deep. Holiday is our best backup PG since Lowry.
I think he takes the bulk of Tate’s minutes. FVV / Green / Brooks / Smith / Sengun Holiday / Amen / Eason / Je. Green that’s your 9-man rotation.
Fvv also playing too many mins cuz only him and Jalen can be trusted to play make on the perimeter so I think Amen coming in is Def gonna help him get more rest. I retrospect Rockets should have taken back Tyty Washington when he got cut cuz we don't really have a backup pg behind FVV. Amen coming in helps a lot but again that means him and FVV can't be injured.
I don't even care if Amen is good or not. All I care is that amen becomes better than Ausar. Cannot lose to the losers in Detroit at anything.
Couldn't you run him like the Pistons are doing? More point forward than guard with the bench unit. With FVV's minutes cut down a bit. He is not going to make it playing 38 minutes a night.
The trio of Holiday, Tate, and Tari playing together have a net rating of +20.0 (outstanding). Keep those three together. Their minutes shouldn't decrease. Amen can get 8 minutes from Fred, 2 minutes from Jalen, & 5 minutes Jeff Green. 15 minutes for Amen sounds about right.
Short answer is yes. Amen and Tari off the bench first for Green and Bari, then once he's in the flow of the game bring either Holiday, Tate or Jeff G off bench to rest FVV (depending on the situation).
