    We agree on this.

NATO/EU care so much about Ukraine that both will fast track membership, when the fighting stops.

    Says who?

Ukraine very well may end up in the EU, especially in a negotiation with Russia. It doesn't mean a whole lot and it doesn't resurrect a whole generation of lost Ukrainian youth, but if it makes you feel better ....

NATO? lol. not in my lifetime

Then what is it? Is it the United States obligation to make sure no country ever invades any other country on this earth?

Also, I see you were PRO U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, that, since it benefited the Taliban, according to your logic, means you're PRO-Taliban... WOW.... that's messed up. (See how that works?)

Russia is our enemy and by helping Ukraine in their current predicament means that Russia suffers without a single American soldier being deployed. We drain them of resources and manpower, social media has conned certain groups of people into thinking this somehow a loss for the US. If China invades Taiwan let's see if you do the same song and dance then.

The MIC has conned people into believing we need a $800 billion dollar budget "Because RuSsIa or ChiNa."

What dreadful consequences await the American people due to localized Chinese or Russian aggression?

If I wake up tomorrow and Russia controls Ukraine or the PRC controls Taiwan, that may disrupt markets in the near term, but long term, the world economy will adjust and the American people will be fine.

I woke up one day in 2014 and Russia controlled Crimea. I, like most people, shrugged, thought, "that sucks" and then kept on living.

Does Taiwan have an important place in the world economy because of their manufacturing? Sure, will that never be replaced and we will just go back to the stone age if the PRC takes Taiwan over? Doubtful. World markets will adjust just fine.

I don’t follow what you’re arguing here. It sounds like you agree with me then that we should’ve withdrew from Afghanistan but the withdrawal was handled terribly.

Taiwan manufacturers chips that can’t be made anywhere else in the World and in the event of a PRC invasion TAiwan has said it would
Rather blow those factories up than let the PRC take them. Further Taiwan and the PRC are major economies with Taiwan located along any major trade route. An invasion of Taiwan will disrupt the global economy possibly to depression levels. If we think supply chains and inflation is bad now that will be nothing if the PRC is actively trying to invade Taiwan.

I don't really care about Russian aggression or degrading their military capability or whatever. In Ukraine, I see a people that wanted to leave dictatorship and corruption and embrace Western Liberalism. If they want that, I'm inclined to help.

I see it as both. While yes there is a geopolitical moral argument I think the Wilsonian / neocon idea of the US should be acting out of a moral responsibility can become dangerous. While not an American he was the staunchest ally on invading Iraq summed it up when he said “even if we’re wrong we’re still right.” That was a remarkably short sighted statement that could become a recipe for forever war.

Ukraine happens to be an area where moral and national security interests align. It’s also one where US troops aren’t fighting and are involvement is limited to supplying arms.

Orban plus the Heritage Foundation, linked to Putin, meeting with the GOP?

Yeah, I trust these people. Can't believe they didn't invite former general Mike Flynn
