The fed should slashing rates NOW. Inflation is done. Help consumers with their auto/mortgage rates and lower rates NOW.

Can you imagine how this economy is going be once rates are down? We're smoking China right now with high rates. Imagine this economy with low rates + government spending = BOOM

Yeah, I convinced people they were paying higher interest rates, higher property taxes due to inflation and more for groceries.

Is now a good time to buy more property? My only fear is that I won't be able to refinance for a decent rate within a year or so. But if the expectation is that rates will go down soon, I may take a few more stabs.

Fed will cut rates in March-may sometime and will cut aggressively. I think we fall back to 3.5% by fall

NO DEVELOPED country in the world had cheaper grocery prices or cheaper gas. None. As bad as inflation/interest rates we had the fastest recovery and cheapest prices out of any other country.

I just came from south Asia where gas is like 4 dollars a gallon and they earn 1/10 of what we make. Americans are so God damn spoiled and don't realize how good we have it. Insanity

At the end of the day The American people decide whether they are content with Biden's term, you can show reports and graphs and dish out numbers but all of that means nothing if the people feel they aren't doing as well as they were or as well as they'd like. Whether Trump can provide a stronger economy does not matter, its whether people believe they're lives are better with Trump in office. Biden's reputation isn't made up, its been widely accepted the dude is way too old and has handled many situations poorly. He's managed to piss many people off. Bruh I'm watching La Mesa Caliente on Telemundo and even the hyper liberal lady hosts are saying they think Biden has cognitive problems and that Dems should not be running Biden on Trump because its a loss.....

No one is brainwashing anyone, people already made up their minds.

America is so far behind Europe on this. It's crazy really, that we are so backwards in time getting people high speed rail. There will be MAGA and GOP politicians against it I'm sure, since Biden, not Trump, is proposing it.

senator kennedy never expected anyone to check his claim (or perhaps he doesn't shop for groceries?)...

btw, the movie came in 1990... 33 years ago.

One outcome of being brainwashed is when one’s perception (feeling) is significantly divergent from objective facts. The brainwashing process often involves a distortion of perception and a detachment from objective facts or evidence. When someone is subjected to manipulation or undue influence, their understanding of reality may become skewed, and they might accept beliefs or ideas that are not grounded in truth. This can result in a significant deviation from widely accepted facts or a shared understanding of reality. It’s a phenomenon where individuals may be led to believe things that are not supported by evidence or rational reasoning.

Reality: The labor market remains remarkably resilient.

Perception: (At least by a good segment of the population) it’s soooo bad out there.

Americans are not that interested in mass transit...mostly due to instant gratification. We simply do not want to sit around waiting for pickup, dropping off other passengers and the inconvenience of not stopping anytime we want. Gen Z could approach this differently.

.. he had positive approval rating on Ukraine invasion, covid, and the israeli conflict. Hes passed 4 trillion dollars of investment and every single one of the bills he passed had 60%+ approval. The funny thing is when you ask the public about specific issues he's taken on they can never find any issues with them. They don't like the "vibe" which is centered around gas prices/interest rates

Again Latinos have had the highest sign up rates in Texas/florida/CA for the expanded aca coverage. Close to 3 million NEW Latinos have gotten free coverage since expansion. Somehow Latinos are getting free health care and their college loans forgiven but sure lol

Latinos are benefitting more than anyone else. Families making under 60k are getting free high quality insurance for free

Bullshit. Mass transit polls highest out of any other options. The car lobbying Industry is what has stopped any progress. High speed rail is one of the most popular things

New Poll: 78% of Americans Want Increased Investments in Passenger Rail in the U.S.

95% of Democrats said rail was important, while 61% of Republicans said it was important.
77% of independents said a strong rail network was important to them.
80% of women and 75% of men said passenger rail was important.
91% of Black or African American respondents said passenger rail was important – the highest percentage among all ethnicities: 81% for Hispanic or Latinx and 75% for White or Caucasian.

82% of respondents living in urban America said a strong rail network is important, while 74% who live in Rural America and 78% who live in Suburban America also said it was important.

    https://railpassengers.org/happenin...sed-investments-in-passenger-rail-in-the-u.s/

To be fair, I think the poll should include way more people. That's what I don't trust about polls. They are usually such a small percentage of Americans.

RPA’s polling was conducted in November 2021 by Change Research and polled 1,280 registered voters from across the United States.

COVID restrictions should have killed the last of these autistic high speed rail fanatics dreams. It isn't practical here and not affordable.

American voters, who will vote in 2024, have lived thru both.
    • Trump left office w an economy that was noticeably worst than the one he had inherited from Obama
    • goin into his 4th year in office, to say that
      would be putting it mildly
    au contrare
    • Biden cleaned Kevin McCarthy's clock in negotiating the debt ceiling
      • so much so that
        • the Repugs had to fire McCarthy as the speaker and
        • McCarthy had to resign
if you use the opinion of a host from Telemundo as the Litmus test, bluntly put, you're not informed.

Airplanes as mass transit? :) We all hate it at times and can't wait for the day when each of us can fly our own personal air drone. ;)

The mass train transit in Beijing is pretty nice. You have to not mind walking, but there is essentially no waiting around, and you can hop on and off pretty easily. Much better than being stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic in a taxi.

I wouldn't plan around a once-in-a-century event, but I understand the fear. I think that's why today kids are no longer as independent and don't play alone outside much anymore, as today is perceived to be less safe than 50 years ago.
