Please read that sentence again. I said, "Effective on both sides of the court OR at a minimum superior on the offensive end, i.e, Steph Curry.

Meaning, if the player is not effective on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court, he has to be superior on the offensive end like Curry.

Sengun fits in your description though doesn't he? He's effective on both ends of the court and superior on one end.

I think the best guy is Ime ......players trust him.

A rare sight but the coach is the best player.

Complete and utter idiocy as usual, the hub of the warriors is Curry. Curry is and always has been why their offense was great, green is just the guy who happens to be there

Good question. I see Sengun as good on the offensive end and avg on the defensive end. So no, he's not what you would ultimately see as effective or what you would want on the defensive end.

And keep in mind, this is my assessement. Notice that I said superior offensively when referencing Curry. I don't see Sengun as a all time great on the offensive end, skilled, yes but great/superior no. He is a great passer but an avg shooter/scorer. I think we can agree on that.

On the defensive end, I would put him in the class of James Harden. Not bad but not great. Harden was good at low post defense but horrible in space and sometimes he would get lazy, similar to Sengun, who is not a defensive first player.

    How do you see him?

This is the same OP that’s been downplaying Sengun all season.

If downplaying is calling someone an All - Star, skilled and a great passer, then yes, Im downplaying Sengun.

Here are some things you've written about Sengun being a star. I don' think its unfair to say you've been downplaying him for years -

Hlm always going out of his way to throw barbs and be dismissive of Sengun. Jabari can’t relied upon to create his own shot, he can’t create for others, and he doesn’t get to the free throw line. That style of player should never be expected to be the lead player on a contending team.

That said Jabari, Amen, and Sengun all have the potential to mesh together very well. I hope Jabari can continue to replicate what he displayed last night because it fit perfectly for what any contending team needs. He will never be a high usage offensive player and he shouldn’t strive to be. He can be an extremely effective player and I think his shooting has upside.

It would be amazing to see Jabari develop into defensive minded Michael Porter Jr.

Amen could be a Lamar Odom/AK47 style player but time will tell with him.

And I think all of that is true! I think he is on the same level as Sabonis and Vucevic. Both are All - Stars but do you want to build a team around them or are they their teams best players....No! Foxx is the star in Sac-Town and Derozan in Chicago.

I think that's the main reason why Indy traded Sabonis because they had to decide against an offensive first center in Sabonis or a defensive center in Myles Turner. And they could not afford to put Sabonis in a backup role for the amount of money he was asking for. Which is something the Rockets will have to consider moving forward.

Aren't you all the least bit curious as to why they went so hard after Brook Lopez???

Additionally, I listen to a lot of what Ime is saying in his pressers. Ime is a defensive first coach. Jabari is the player who he says can do everything DEFENSIVELY. Jabari is the player who can post up, Jabari is the player who can step out and hit the 3. While Sengun is the player they put on the WEAKEST OFFENSIVE PLAYER. Again, not saying he is not skilled, a great passer, or future All - Star, Isaiah Thomas was an All - Star, but can you carry a team to the finals??

And that player has to have the ability to effect the game on BOTH ENDS of the court.

Really? All of it? You think he's a bench player, not starter material? You think he's capped out at 21 and won't improve any further? You don't think he's ever going to score 20ppg? You don't think he'll be an all star?

If he's ALL that you say he is, why did they go so hard after Brook Lopez?

Lopez was not going to sit on the bench at $25M per yr? Was Alpi going to play PF, SF OR PG, NO!

He was going to be on the bench
