Watch just the first video (3 1/2 minutes, not longer than it took you to write up your responses which clearly are just based on an urge to come in and sound like a smartass, not on actually having bothered to read anything about the topic or watch anything to inform yourself).

Then let me know if you are ok with the responses by the university presidents. If you are, I don't really know what to tell you.

If you have 5-10 more minutes, you could watch the videos with the first-hand accounts of three Jewish students of what they have had to endure on the campuses of these universities in the last few weeks.

I got you I already watched that one, and my takeaway is - I really don't know if they would react differently if it weren't Jews and were instead Buddhist or Muslims or whomever in an identical situation. I'd assume they'd adhere to their policy regardless of the affected race/religion group. If they don't that is crazy.

Tell me what I'm missing here, but aren't these administrators skipping a step? They're explicitly saying the call for genocide isn't harassment unless it turns to action, but isn't the call for genocide that turns to action just the act of genocide?

All three of them must be fired, and the fact it hasn't happened more swiftly than it undoubtedly will is a disgrace.

But of course the problem runs deeper - they are a symptom of what woke indoctrination and "DEI" have led to.

It’s a tweet. You know how I feel about tweets. Not kill them all. BTW, I’m pretty sure public peeing is against the law.

Incitement to genocide can be considered genocide if there is good reason to believe that is the intended effect.

Even if it doesn’t rise to that level, these universities do have rules prohibiting harassment and hate speech.

Is the argument that saying “kill all Jews” may be permissible in the context of a political demonstration even if it is not permissible in some other context? That seems wrong.

Or is the argument that statements that some people interpret as a call for genocide (free Palestine from river to sea), while others ascribe it some other meaning, may be permitted on campus? I can agree with that, but I don’t think that was what the congresswoman was asking.

It should have been easy enough to respond that explicitly calling for Jews to be killed is not acceptable and is a punishable offense per their rules. If that isn’t actually the case, they need to be challenged to provide an example where it would be allowed.

Except you’ve criticized wokeness for creating safe spaces in campuses and now are essentially arguing for safe spaces in campuses.

Certainly such comments are hateful and threatening and should be explicitly called out against. The argument that I see is that free speech is meaningless if it doesn’t apply to speech that many would consider offensive and even hateful.

Here I will agree that colleges have been hypocritical about what speech that they allow and I do think it’s a fair argument to call them
Out on it. That said though many on the right including those who are morally outraged here have previously argued for more free speech even if it is speech that is homophobic, misogynistic and racists. They have mocked the idea of “safe spaces” and that those who feel offended by such speech are “wokies”.

If you do actually believe that colleges are places where people confront difficult ideas and speech that is considered threatening that is a consequence. Whether it’s Jordan Peterson arguing that non traditional relationships are dangerous and deviant or pro Palestinian students chanting “from the river to the sea”.

The gov should suspend all federally-backed student loans to these schools.

What was that about when you can’t counter an argument and insults?
