Mississippi tops ranking of U.S. gun death rates. A study blames weak laws, high ownership https://www.mpbonline.org/blogs/new...ates-a-study-blames-weak-laws-high-ownership/ Illinois was 27th, with 15.72 per 100,000.
I think the gun death rate is unacceptable EVERYWHERE in the United States. And the only question is, what are people willing to do to make improvements. I favor a multi-prong approach of stiffer punishment for those using guns in crimes to tighter controls, at the very minimum, nation-wide expanded background checks, but also tightening of loopholes, again at a national level. Your solutions?
I'm so sick of the GOP. Those greedy b*stards don't give a damn about people. It's all about money and NRA political support. There is no damn reason for civilians to legally buy assault weapons designed to kill lots of people quickly. None! You want to shoot assault weapons, then sign up for the military as a grunt in the Marines or Army, or join special forces. There is no reason to sell these weapons to Americans who either want to play GI Joe out in some field, or go around shooting innocent children and civilians.
90% of Americans should be voting Democrat if they don't want to see mass murders keep increasing, price gouging keep increasing, more children working under unsafe conditions in factories, and their healthcare plan get taken away. That's just the minimum of a world where oligarchs and right wingers rule. Social security, working wages, Medicare, OSHA regulations, gay and women's rights, equal opportunity, diversity, voting rights, justice for all, employment rights, public schools, religious freedom, mental health care services, and more will start getting stripped away as well.
From what I read, he was arrested on misfeasor family violence charges in 2022 and stayed out of trouble until now.
Just going to note the irony of those decrying antisemitism a lot lately still bringing up George Soros’ name as being responsible for and lot of things they don’t like
I’m also going to point out the relative silence of those who are thundering of the safety of students from hateful speech while students are getting shot on campus. I won’t deny that speech can be dangerous but no one has ever been shot with words
There is no irony there. Just because someone belongs to a certain faith does not make them immune from criticism. You have been posting a lot of absolute nonsense.
So then you would agree that criticism of Israel, Israeli policies would not necessarily be antisemitic. Further that arguments regarding free speech on campus isn’t antisemitic.
You are stating things that should be obvious. Stop trying to score internet points. Your posts in the last few days have been an embarrassment.
